Energy is one of the major inputs for the economic development of any country. In the case of the developing countries, the energy sector assumes a critical importance in view of the ever increasing energy needs requiring huge investments to meet them. With energy saving we can reduce burden on energy resources and national economy and also can save money by using energy cost effectively. Energy saving requires optimum use of energy by minimizing losses or wastage and avoiding excess use without compromising the quality of output and comfort of personnel’s. Energy Audit is a tool to estimate and analyze energy consumption and its pattern with respect to factors such as time, output & floor area.

Pages: 3 - 7
Carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) are increasingly employed within the aerospace industry, particularly within the aircraft sector. However, machining of fiber reinforced composites can be quite complex, first due to the inherent heterogeneity resulting from the reinforcements/matrix assembly and second due to the presence of high modulus/high strength fibers. In this dissertation work investigation on machining characterization of carbon fiber reinforced plastic is carried out for drilling operation with coated and uncoated twist drill. This investigation is carried out to find out hole quality parameters. Here comparison is made between the coated solid carbide drill conditions with the uncoated HSS drill condition for finding out the better one. In this study, the variable parameters, that affect much, are taken as input parameters. They are spindle speed, feed rate and point angle and output parameters are as Hole size and circularity and delamination.

Pages: 8 - 10
Energy requirement of India particularly heating & cooling in space is likely to increase by for fold within the span of 20 years. So energy efficiency has been prime importance in HVAC system. There are various other options available for energy saving in HVAC systems and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology is one of them. In heating/cooling space VRF technology is having considerable potential for energy saving (10% to 40%).

ROBOTICS
Year: 2015, Volume:1, Issue : 10
Pages: 11 - 14
In this paper, we have designed a Smart Ping Pong Robot. Here we are using this robot specifically for table tennis application, where the player will able to play or practice without any opponent. This Robot automatically throws the ball where the player can play against the Robot. In our design we have used a power supply to energize the actuator or crank shaft piston. The power supply (230V AC) is converted to 12 volt DC. The electrical energy is converted into mechanical action of the crank shaft piston. This piston is used to push the ball, which is fed from the basket to the end effector (Ball delivery). The ball at the end effector is pushed outward by the wheel that is rotating at the speed of 1000 rpm. A DC wiper motor is fixed at the bottom of the disc when that motor is energized; the disc is rotated to an angle of 45 degree left and to an angle of 45 degree right. So that the ball will be delivered in Forehand and Forehand middle directions. This robot also gives Top spin, Side spin and Reverse spin of the ball. Our Project design has a single degree of freedom that has a rotatory action to delivery balls at different directions. Thus, our robot plays a positive role in the robot table tennis development.

Ensembles Method For One Class Classification Using Convex Hull Polytope Model

Year: 2015, Volume:1, Issue : 10
Pages: 19 - 24
Classification is a data mining task that allocated similar data to categories or classes. One of the most general methods for classification is ensemble method which refers supervised learning. After generating classification rules we can apply those rules on unidentified data and achieve the results. In one-class classification it is supposed that only information of one of the classes, the target class, is available. In an ensemble classification system, different base classifiers are combined in order to obtain a classifier with higher performance. In this work, a new one-class classification ensemble strategy called Approximate Polytope Ensemble is presented. The geometrical theory of convex hull is used to define the boundary of the target class defining the problem. The most widely used ensemble learning algorithms are AdaBoost and Bagging. The process of ensemble learning method can be divided into three phases: the generation phase, in which a set of candidate models is induced, the pruning phase, to select of a subset of those models and the integration phase, in which the output of the models is combined to generate a prediction.

Year: 2015, Volume:1, Issue : 10
Pages: 25 - 27
Existing social network services provide list of friends to users based on their request given. But it will not fulfill the user’s preferences in real life. Due to overloaded memory of the server memory size increases and lacking its efficiency. By implementing the Latent Dirichlet Allocation Algorithm we extracting their lifestyles and sensing the similarity of lifestyles between users by using embedded sensors in the smartphones. Based on friend matching graphs we return a list of people with highest similarity of lifestyles. Feedback mechanism is integrated in this friendbook to get the results of users in choosing friends. We have implemented friendbook on the Android-based smartphones and evaluated its performance on both small scale experiments and large scale simulations. Finally, we reduce the memory size of the server and improving its performance.

Year: 2015, Volume:1, Issue : 10
Pages: 28 - 31
The Homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) combustion is an alternative to current engine combustion systems and research in HCCI is being carried out to use it as a method to reduce emissions. HCCI has the potential nearly to eliminate engine-out NOx emissions while producing efficiencies as in diesel engine, when a pre mixture of gas-phase fuel and air is burned spontaneously and entirely by an auto ignition process. Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engines promise high thermal efficiency combined with low levels of nitric oxide and particulate matter emissions. The purpose of this study is to summarise the alternative fuel effect for the HCCI engine combustion process.

Pages: 32 - 37
The investigation of site selection for wind turbine on the basis of wind flow characteristic at RGPV Hill Top (Bhopal- M.P, India) is attempted in this paper. The main purpose of this paper is to perform an investigation on wind flow characteristics and wind energy assessment at RGPV Hill Top and to determine the Annual Energy Production for previously installed wind turbines located at the same site. In this work, the recorded time series wind data fetched by the NRG Symphonie Data logger wind mast installed at Energy Park, RGPV at the co-ordinates of E 077° 21.668' longitude and N 023° 18.720' latitude stand a mast. This data analyzed for a period of 1 year i.e. from 4-July-2013 to 4-July-2014 at the height of 20 meter and 40 meter, with a fixed averaging interval of 10 minutes, for studying the observed wind climate. The analyzed data which was worked upon comprises of wind speed data in meter per second and its direction of flow in degrees. The wind turbine site selection tool i.e. WAsP, presented in this paper provides insights into the most feasible sites for a given geographic area based on user inputs. The data were analyzed using WAsP software and regional wind climate of the area was determined, providing vital details which helped in selecting the proposed turbine sites.

Year: 2015, Volume:1, Issue : 10
Pages: 38 - 40
Accidents by vehicle are one of the most common causes of deaths .This may be due to poor road condition, bad weather, and lack of driving techniques. Fatality rate increases if medical assistance is not made available immediately after accident. Recent studies show how communication capabilities as well as hardware devices are able to support intelligent systems capable of automating many of the decisions to be taken by emergency services, thereby adapting the rescue resources to the severity of the accident and reducing assistance time. This communication services and hardware devices can be made easily available to any person because of user friendly interface and cost effective. This paper proposes a less complicated, novel and intelligent system which is able to detect road accidents using modern communication technologies and state of art hardware systems and notifies the hospitals nearest to accident spot if there is no response from the driver.
