  Shot peening is a method widely used to improve mechanical properties of materials. The improvement in mechanical properties such as surface hardness, fatigue strength, tensile strength, damping etc. are due to the induction of compressive residual stress in the metal parts. The residual compressive stress induced by shot peening is the function of material and mechanical conditions. Its beneficial effects are mainly due to the residual stress field caused by the plastic deformation of the surface layer of material resulting from multiple impacts of the shot, although strain hardening and grain distortion caused by the multiple impacts of the shot also play a role in the modified mechanical behaviour of the peened components. Due to several advantages shot peening has been in the focus of research persons for the purpose of increasing the properties of the materials. In the present paper, a review study has been done on the shot peening effects on different materials. This review will help the researchers and readers to better understand the several benefits and applications of shot peening. The present review of shot peening process is focused on the latest development and pushes the readers towards the on-going research in this classic process. The authors have not come across any such type of review which focuses mainly on shot peening process.

  Most of the braking systems utilize friction forces to transform the kinetic energy of a moving body into heat that is dissipated by the braking pads. The overuse of friction-type braking systems causes the temperature of the braking pads to rise, reducing the effectiveness of the system. An Electromagnetic Braking system uses Magnetic force to engage the brake, but the power required for braking is transmitted manually. The disc is connected to a shaft and the electromagnet is mounted on the frame .When electricity is applied to the coil a magnetic field is developed across the armature. The eddy-current is created by the relative motion between a magnet and a metal (or alloy) conductor. The current induces the reverse magnetic field and results in the deceleration of motion. The proposed mechanism implements this phenomenon in developing a braking system. The potential applications of the braking system can be a decelerating system to increase the safety of an elevator or any guided rail transportation system As a result it develops a torque and eventually the vehicle comes to rest. In this project the advantage of using the electromagnetic braking system in automobile is studied. These brakes can be incorporated in heavy vehicles as an auxiliary brake. The electromagnetic brakes can be used in commercial vehicles by controlling the current supplied to produce the magnetic flux. Making some improvements in the brakes it can be used in automobiles in future. . It also reduces the maintenance of braking system. An advantage of this system is that it can be used on any vehicle with minor modifications to the transmission and electrical systems.

  Providing clean, environmentally safe water for livestock in sufficient quantities continues to be a major concern for farmers and ranchers. Abundant water in remote locations in needed to insure that grasslands are grazed evenly. A solar powered water pumping system designed for remote locations was operated to determine the performance and reliability of the system and components. The system began pumping water when the solar radiation intensity exceeded. Flow increased linearly with radiation intensity and reached a maximum flow of intensity. Maximum flow was dependent on using the correct controller adjustment as well as the radiation intensity. Solar water pumping system operates on direct current. The output of solar power system varies throughout the day and with changes in weather conditions. Photovoltaic module, the power source for solar pumping, have no moving parts, requires no maintenance and last for decades. A properly designed solar pumping system will be efficient, simple and reliable. Solar powered pumping systems are used principally for three applications town and city water supply, livestock watering and irrigation.

  This paper presents methodology for analysis of performance of compact heat exchanger (CHE). A deterministic quantitative model based on graph theoretical methodology has been developed for calculating the permanent function and numerical index of compact heat exchanger performance factors. The permanent function is used for evaluation and analysis of compact heat exchanger. The compact heat exchanger (CHE) performance factors are divided into subsystems and interactions between subsystems are represented into matrix form. This paper provides a general formula which can be applied to different compact heat exchangers (CHE).

  In this paper we have studied solid and liquid waste management in of seven villages. The qualities of both solid & liquid wastes are increasing and if the wastes are disposed in an uncontrolled manner these may cause adverse impact on public health & environment. Therefore, the solid wastages are still a major problem in these rural areas. To overcome these problems, we have proposed to implement vermicomposting.   The aim of the project is to develop an action plan for watershed development. Watershed development is the process of creating and implementing plans, programs, and projects to sustain and increase watershed functions that affect the plants, animal and human communities inside watershed boundary. The recent technologies like remote sensing and GIS support us to giving a quicker and cost effective analysis of various applications with accuracy for planning.The present study is an attempt to develop watershed by using remote sensing and GIS in rural area of Vadodara district land. Study area selected by using Grouping analysis in Arc GIS. Agricultural data taken and understood the crop pattern and conlude the benefits from changing crop pattern and generate watershed and suggest the check dam.

  ZnO is a wide band-gap (3.37 eV) II–VI compound semiconductor with hexagonal wurtzite structure. These films were deposited by electrodeposition technique, containing very low concentrations of sodium citrate and 30% hydrogen peroxide. Ammonium hydroxide is added to control the reaction. The structural, compositional, Surface morphology and optical analysis were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM).The hexagonal structure of ZnO (101) is observed with average grain size 48nm. The average RMS surface roughness of the film is observed to be 328.621nm. The bandgap of the ZnO film is observed to be 3.35 eV. The strong peak of ZnO at 381 nm is observed in photoluminescence spectroscopy.

  Water is one of the most essential components for the survival of life on the earth. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) more than 80% diseases of mankind are water borne. The present research work is focused on characterization of water samples collected before and after treatment from Rural Water Supply (RWS) schemes located at Revenue Mandal Head Quarters Ganapavaram and Nallajerla of West Godavari district during pre and post monsoon seasons for physicochemical parameters Viz., pH, Electrical conductivity (EC), Total Dissolved solids (TDS), Total hardness (TH), Total Alkalinity (TA), Na, K, Calcium and Magnesium, Chloride, Sulphate, Nitrate, Fluoride, Phosphate and Metal ions Viz., Li, Be, Al, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Rb, Sr, Ag, Cd, Cs, Ba, Tl, Pb and U to evaluate the quality of drinking waters. The study results indicated that the waters are with slightly alkaline nature. TH and TA values of post monsoon samples exceeded the permissible limit while other parametric levels of TDS, Na +, K+, Cl-, F-, NO3-, SO42- , PO43- values are within the permissible limits. The concentration of metal ions is also within the permissible limits. Higher values of hardness and total alkalinity can cause encrustation and possess unpleasant smell to waters and make the waters unsuitable for drinking domestic and purposes.

  SRAM and DRAM cells have been the predominant technologies used to implement memory cells in computer systems. This paper deals with the design and analysis of high speed Static Random Access Memory (SRAM) Cell and Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) Cell to perform high speed to develop low power consumption. SRAM cells are faster and require no refresh since reads are not destructive. In contrast, DRAM cells provide higher density and minimal leakage energy. Here we use 6-transistor SRAM cell built from a simple static latch and tri state inverter and 3-transistor DRAM cell. The reading action itself refreshes the content of memory. The SRAM access path is split into two portions: from address input to word line rise (the row decoder) and from word line rise to data output (the read data path). The decoder which constitutes the path from address input to the word line rise is implemented as a binary structure by implementing a multi-stage path. The key to low power operation in the SRAM data path is to reduce the signal swings on the high capacitance nodes like the bit lines and the data lines. Results show good performance.

  Application of the technology systems is growing in various fields and agriculture is not an exception. Agriculture is also reaping the benefits of technological innovation which helps in quantitative and qualitative food production. Vertical farm, one of the agricultural practices, is considered to be the future of agriculture with the rate of population migrating into urban areas. Ubiquitous computing in agriculture is emerging remarkably in this fast processing pervasive environment, owing to wireless sensor network (WSN). Building a context aware system for the vertical farm is complex without the semantic interoperability between the Internet of things (IOT). In this paper, we propose a vertical farm ontology (VFO), an OWL based ontology model which helps in more understanding of the relationship between the domain factors.
