Pages: 1 - 3
The present proposed work in this paper aims at developing the easy to machine fixture which not only enhances the production rate but also reduces machining time. Presently in automobile industry, the production line for engine assembly is done in conventional method, due to which production takes too much time to produce a product. Sometimes it doesn’t fulfill the demand due to lack of production technique and delays. We have proposed a design of a fixture bracket which will be very useful for production of engine in production line. With the help of this fixture bracket, the assembling of the engine block with its sub-parts will be quite easier than the conventional method. Also we calculate the strength equations and fatigue analysis on the fixture bracket for the safety of the operator and production system.

Year: 2015, Volume:2, Issue : 5
Pages: 9 - 13
Contemporary wireless multihop networks work much underneath their capacity because of the poor coordination among transmitting nodes. Cross-layer architectures offer a radical option by upholding participation among the numerous layers of the protocol stack. At the center of these architectures is the backpressure scheduling algorithm which accomplishes the system limit. XPRESS is throughput-optimal backpressure architecture for wireless multihop networks. XPRESS is made out of a central controller, which performs backpressure scheduling taking into account the deliberate wireless network state, furthermore of the wireless nodes, which intermittently give the network estimations and execute the registered timetable utilizing a cross-layer protocol stack. One of the main drawbacks of this scheme is delay reduction. Delay reduction techniques give preferred delay execution over traditional backpressure as far as the most extreme throughput.

Performance Improvement in MIMO-OFDM System by Papr Reduction
Mrs. Najneen Jamadar ; Dr. Shailaja Patil
Electronics & Communication Engineering
Year: 2015, Volume:2, Issue : 5
Pages: 14 - 22
This paper proposes an advanced MIMO-OFDM reconfigurable architecture along with companding transform. The reconfigurable architecture uses switching algorithm between MIMO diversity and special multiplexing which allows selecting the MIMO configuration and improves the BER. The major drawback of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is peak to average power ratio (PAPR). Many techniques were developed to reduce PAPR. Considering all available PAPR reduction techniques, companding transform is attractive technique for its simplicity. This paper put forward the comparison of two techniques namely exponential companding and nonlinear companding. In this paper evaluation of performance is shown in terms of bit error rate and peak to average power ratio.

Year: 2015, Volume:2, Issue : 5
Pages: 23 - 27
Every day number of images are generated which implies the necessity to classify, organise and access them using an easy, faster and efficient way. The classification of images into semantic categories is a challenging and important problem now days. Thus hand gesture image detection and recognition is also difficult task. In this paper a novel system which can be used for sign language recognition and interaction with an application or videogame via hand gestures is introduced. This proposed system elucidate framework for vision based recognition of American sign language alphabets from static hand gesture images using Discrete Wavelet Transform based feature extraction technique and Minimum distance vector classifier Daubenchies Wavelet basis function is selected for performing three level two dimensional wavelet decomposition of input static hand gesture image and 7 features are extracted for each image. In the training stage feature vectors are calculated for every training images creating database for classification. In the testing stage input image features are compared with stored trained image features using minimum distance vector classifier.

Pages: 28 - 37
Liquid dispenser machine is commonly found in our daily life in different places like offices, bus stands, railway stations, petrol pumps. In this thesis we are going to present a pneumatic operated oil dispenser machine. Using a pneumatic system interface, we can effectively increase operator accuracy, reduce training time and improve overall efficiencies, thus keeping cost down a properly designed pneumatic system interface can improve overall accuracy. Present liquid dispenser machine available in industries are costly, complex and hard in design and fabrication. Main requirement from this machine is its metering or measuring quality. Accuracy of measuring is very less in various machines. Hence, the basic theme behind this research is to improve these disadvantages of oil dispenser machine. The oil dispenser machine presently available is based on practice and past experience of the employer in his working field and also, its efficiency declines at a greater rate after a period of time. By surveying the present machines and comparing their present limitations, new model will be fabricated so that designs data can be obtained to formulate experimental data based model for this process. The design of model will be so simple that it can be adopted easily by small industries & automobile workshop. Easy technology will help to reduce metering problem. The present work reports the design & fabrication of oil measuring & dispensing machine which is used in small industries & automobile workshop.

Year: 2015, Volume:2, Issue : 5
Pages: 38 - 45
In urban areas, increase in population and scarcity of land, the horizontal development gets restricted that’s why most of the owners, building contractors, engineers are adopting vertical development of buildings for the construction. Natural hazard like earthquake affects the stability of such structures. Performance of structures in different areas of Northern part of India, during the earthquakes, is reviewed. The earthquake caused damage to heritage structures as well as modern buildings. Both masonry and reinforced concrete buildings showed poor performance. Previous studies reveal that major failures of structures occurred due to improper design procedures. Therefore, it is need of time to analyses & designs such hazard resisting structures so as to save human life and avoid property damage. The behavior of a building during earthquakes depends critically on its overall shape, size and geometry. Nonlinear pushover analysis has been used to evaluate the seismic performance of three buildings with four different plans having same area and height. The results of effects of plan aspect ratio on seismic response of buildings have been presented in terms of displacement, base shear. Behaviour parameters of the analyzed moment resisting frames also calculated.

Year: 2015, Volume:2, Issue : 5
Pages: 57 - 64
In this project work, an attempt is made to predict the shear strength for concrete deep beams at ultimate state, using ANSYS12.1 software. Two test beams will be accounted to predict their shear strength at ultimate state using ANSYS 12.1 software. The accuracy of the predicted values of shear strength based on ANSYS 12.1 software for the two test beams will be compared with their corresponding experimental results. In addition, the predicted values of shear strength for the two test beams using ANSYS 12.1 software will be compared with the results obtained by shear strength prediction models proposed by various researchers. The prediction of shear strength using ANSYS 12.1is found to be reasonably in good agreement with the corresponding experimental results.
