Pages: 143 - 162
Data Mining refers to the process of mining useful data over large datasets. The discovery of interesting association relationships among large amounts of business transactions is currently vital for making appropriate business decisions. This is the reason that the research in data mining is carried out largely for business decision making rather than for academic importance. Association rule analysis is the task of discovering association rules that occur frequently in a given transaction data set. Its task is to find certain relationships among a set of data (itemset) in the database. It has two measurements: Support and confidence values. Confidence value is a measure of rule’s strength, while support value corresponds to statistical significance. There are currently a variety of algorithms to discover association rules. Most of the algorithms need a specification of minimum support value as user input. Specifying minimum support values of items is not recommended as it leads to very less or very large rules. With a sufficiently high support value, the less frequent elements gets eliminated, leaving only the elements which are most frequent. Thus, knives and spoons may get eliminated leaving only biscuits and milk. One approach for this problem is proposed by MsApriori Algorithm. However, both Apriori and MsApriori are computationally complex and need large computational time for large datasets over traditional machines. One solution to this problem is proposed by Dynamic Matrix Apriori which is much faster as compared to traditional Apriori in the generation of candidate sets. The contribution of this paper is twofold. It first proposed a method to use MsAprioiri using Dynamix Matrix Technique. It then proposes a framework to use the Algorithm under the Map Reduce Programming model. Experiments on large set of data bases have been conducted to validate the proposed framework. The achieved results show that there is a remarkable improvement in the overall performance of the system in terms of run time, the number of generated rules, and number of frequent items used.

Year: 2015, Volume:2, Issue : 5
Pages: 163 - 166
An experimental study had made on waste product and utilizing it for manufacturing of concrete. The disposal of waste tires is becoming a major waste management problem in the world at the moment. Environmental concerns are also being raised against uncontrolled extraction of natural sand. In this essence, the present study aims to investigate the optimal use of waste tyre rubber crumbs as fine aggregate in concrete composite. A total of 85 cubes, cylinders and beam specimens were cast with the replacement of fine aggregate by shredded rubber crumbs with the proportion of 5, 10, and 15% by weight and compared with 21 conventional specimens. Fresh and hardened properties of concrete such as workability, compressive strength, tensile strength and flexural strength were identified and finally it will suggest 10% replacement of waste tyre rubber aggregate with fine aggregate will gives optimal and safest replacement in concrete composites.

Year: 2015, Volume:2, Issue : 5
Pages: 167 - 171
The main aim of this study is to produce high early strength concrete and helping for boosting of construction work and to achieve economy. The main application of our research work is in the field of temporary works. In temporary WORKS if we are able to achieve earlier strength of concrete for various components of building it is possible to use that fund in further progress of construction works, as the temporary works causes 20-25% cost of total construction cost. Mechanical property has studied by performing compression test for cubes (150mm×150mm×150mm) size and beams of (500mm×100mm×100mm) size. Test performed were compression test on cube and flexural test on beams. It was observed that using plasticizer we were able to achieve high early strength.

Year: 2015, Volume:2, Issue : 5
Pages: 172 - 174
Conventionally metal has be used extensively for manufacture of almost all the part of the vehicle but of late the Equipment manufacturers for looking for alternate viable options specifically plastic against metal which would improve the performance criteria due to reduced weight and cost. This insight along with the changes in legislation has forced the Original Equipment manufacturer to look for the other viable options. The metal fuel tank has been a mainstay for auto manufacturers but its weight, cost; life is comparatively at a higher side as compared to plastic for same specification. The drivers for a material change are legislation, increased required part life, permeability, weight, packaging, safety, and cost. In this paper we try to review the performance attribute of plastic and metal from the manufacturer’s perspective in the critical areas of manufacturability, cost, design, weight, safety, corrosion, and recyclability. This article compares metal and plastic for fuel tank uses according to performance attributes such as weight, strength, permeability, manufacturability and cost. This study is expected to provide a good insight to the manufacturer of fuel tanks, in regards to advantages and disadvantages of plastic and metal fuel tanks.

Pages: 175 - 181
Quality estimation of image and video is very important. There are various quality estimation techniques including full reference, reduced reference and no reference quality metrics. In these quality metrics reduce reference and no reference quality metrics are more practical than full reference quality metrics. In this paper quality estimation based on tree structure watermarking using k-d tree complexity analysis is used. The proposed method uses embedded watermark to estimate the quality of cover video and image under distortions. The watermarking is done on the dwt domain of the cover image and video. The dwt coefficients are categorized in to hierarchical tree and the watermarking is done on the selected bit planes. Complexity analysis used to find out how much details an image and video contains for that kd-tree based complexity analysis is used. The quality is estimated under different distortion strength in terms of PSNR and QOI.

Year: 2015, Volume:2, Issue : 5
Pages: 182 - 186
Using Taguchi’s parameter design, significant process parameters affecting the response characteristics are identified as pulse-on-time, pulse-off-time, servo voltage and wire feed. It has been observed that a combination of optimal parameters for each response characteristics is different. In this study, the process parameters namely the pulse-on-time, pulse-off-time, servo voltage and wire feed are optimized with considerations of performance characteristics, such as cutting speed. To validate the study, confirmation experiment has been carried out at optimum set of parameters and predicted results have been found to be in good agreement with experimental findings.

Pages: 187 - 195
Natural fibers have the advantage that they are renewable resources and bio- degradable. These agricultural wastes can be used to prepare fiber reinforced polymer composites for commercial use. Application of composite materials to structures has presented the need for the engineering analysis the present work focuses on the fabrication of polymer matrix sandwich composites by using natural fibers kenaf and jute which are abundant nature in desired shape by the help of various structures of patterns. Here E-glass fibers are used to improve strength. This sandwich composite are Fabricated by simple Hand layup technique. In this composite produce more tensile strength than other composite materials like as banana, sisal, coir, etc.,, The mechanical properties (flexural strength, Tensile strength, impact, and compression) are determined by flexural test, tensile test, impact test, density test, and their results are measured on sections of the material and make use of the natural fiber reinforced polymer sandwich composite material for automotive seat shell manufacturing, marine like boat, ships panels and aero vehicles parts.

Year: 2015, Volume:2, Issue : 5
Pages: 196 - 203
A novel approach to unsupervised change detection method in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images based on image fusion and compressed projection. Different types of terrain changes can be identified by using SAR images. First, proposed approach to generate a difference image by using Gauss-log ratio. The Gauss-log ratio operator is proposed to obtain a stable and clear difference map. In order to make better use of the Gauss-log ratio operator and log-ratio operator, this paper introduces a fusion strategy to generate a fused difference image based on Contour let Transform and Guided filter. Second non subsampled contour let transform (NSCT) to reduce the noise in the fused difference image and compressed projection is employed to extract feature for each pixel, improve the performance of the subsequent clustering or classification, NSCT model is used to suppress noise of the image and keep shape of the changed portion. The final change detection map is obtained by partitioning the feature vectors into “changed†and “unchanged†classes using simple k-means clustering. At last the experiment shows the performance evaluation of the different fusion strategy, using the PSNR value.
