  Power transformer is one of the most important and expensive equipment in electrical network. The transformer oil is a very important component of power transformers. It has twin functions of cooling as well as insulation. The oil properties like viscosity, specific gravity, flash point, oxidation stability, total acid number, breakdown voltage, dissipation factor, volume resistivity and dielectric constant suffer a change with respect to time. Hence it is necessary that the oil condition be monitored regularly to predict, if possible, the remaining lifetime of the transformer oil, from time to time. Six properties such as moisture content, resistivity, tan delta, interfacial tension and flash point have been considered. The data for the six properties with respect to age, in days, has been taken from literature, whereby samples of ten working power transformers of 16 to 20 MVA installed at different substations in Punjab, India have been considered. This paper aims at developing ANN and ANFIS models for predicting the age of in-service transformer oil samples. Both the the models use the six properties as inputs and age as target. ANN (Artificial Neural Network) model uses a multi-layer feedforward network employing back propagation algorithm, and ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System) model is based on Sugeno model. The two models have been simulated for estimating the age of unknown transformer oil samples taken from generator transformers of Anpara Thermal Power Project in state of U.P. India. A comparative analysis of the two models has been made whereby ANFIS model has been found to yield better results than ANN model.

  In our country many of the existing reinforced concrete structures are in need of repair or reconstruction, rehabilitation, because of deterioration due to various factors like corrosion, lack of detailing, failure of bonding between beam-column joints, increase in service loads, improper design and unexpected external lateral loads such as wind or seismic forces acting on a structure, environment and accident events etc., leading to cracking, spalling, loss of strength, deflection, etc. Strengthening of existing reinforced concrete structures is necessary to obtain an expected life span and achieve specific requirements. The need for efficient rehabilitation and strengthening techniques of existing concrete structures has resulted in research and development of composite strengthening systems. Recent experimental and analytical research have demonstrated that the use of composite materials for retrofitting existing structural components is more cost-effective and requires less effort and time than the traditional means. Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composite has been accepted in the construction industry as a capable substitute for repairing and strengthening of RCC structures. The superior properties of (FRP) polymer composite materials like high corrosion resistance, high strength, high stiffness, excellent fatigue performance and good resistance to chemical attack etc., has motivated the researchers and practicing engineers to use the polymer composites in the field of rehabilitation of structures. During past two decades, much research has been carried out on shear and flexural strengthening of reinforced concrete beams using different types of fiber reinforced polymers and adhesives. A detailed Literature review based on the previous experimental and analytical research on retrofitting of reinforced concrete beams is presented. Proposed method of strengthening the RC beam is decided based on the previous experimental and analytical research. Behaviors of retrofitted reinforced concrete beams with externally bonded CFRP with various types of resins (Epoxy, Orthophthalic Resin (GP), ISO resin) after initial load (60 % control beam) is investigated. Static load responses of all the beams under two point load method had evaluated in terms of flexural strength, crack observation, compositeness between CFRP fabric and concrete, and the associated failure modes.

  The availability of drinking water is the very important for all. Plenty of water sources are available on the earth but only 1% of the Earth's water is in a fresh, liquid state, and nearly all of this is polluted by both pathogens and toxic chemicals. Though there are many physical and chemical processes like reverse osmosis, electro dialysis, multi effect desalination to treat sea water, solar distillation is chosen due to its economic viability. Combining renewable solar energy and desalination would generate a sustainable source of fresh water as well as energy. This combination is highly valued as it limits and reduce air pollution emissions and greenhouse gases generated by the combustion of fossil fuels. So, we can say that solar distillation seems to be a promising method and find an alternate way to produce fresh water. Several solar stills deigns have been proposed and many have them found significant applications.

  Now a day without concrete we can’t imagine the world so in such conditions as a civil engineer it is the ultimate job to get the maximum output at reasonable input without causing any effect to the nature nothing but environment. High density concrete was mainly used in the construction of nuclear power plants, rail sleepers, counter wait for lifting cranes and in many other structures also. The main aim of this paper deals with the high density concrete that means to get the maximum density by using the locally available material steel scrap (mild steel bars dross) as a replacement of fine aggregate in different proportions of 50% and 100% with the considerable water cement ratio. This may result the change in physical and chemical properties like density, compressive strength, tensile strength, freeze-thaw resistance and apart from all these the main foremost thing is it should resist the thermal property also. Here the fine aggregate replacement by steel dross is economical because this steel dross is locally available material we can get this from the metal cutting workshops that is maximum there is no use of this regarding any activity in any area. By doing the sieve analysis for the steel dross it came under zone II as here the replacement is of fine aggregate(FA) is also the same zone so it an advantage to obtain the optimum results.

  The sanitary landfill sites have occupied a considerable area especially the depression zones in parts of Delhi. Unfortunately, till date Delhi doesn’t have any exclusive hazardous tracts landfill site. The municipal solid waste are mixed up with hazardous waste e.g hospital waste, industry waste and other toxic waste and deposited at different sanitary landfill sites. Thus the leachate forms from these site are toxic in nature occurred and contribute the physical, chemical and biological contaminant by their movement to the shallow ground water level. It is found that the of leachate at Bhalswa landfill sites contain the heavy metals like Iron, Manganese, Cadmium, Lead, Copper, Chromium, Nickel and Zinc.The study indicates that the leachate when mixed with rainwater then it infiltrates more and mixed up with ground water. However the movement of trace metals sets restricts by the impervious geological formation as quartzite rocks at Okhla within 3 meter depth and a impervious clay at Ghazipur at 5 meter depth.The infiltration of trace metals is recorded more at Bhalswa Sanitary Landfill Site because of pervious sandy beds at shallow depth of 4 meter clay. It is recommended that the farther site may be explored in the western part of Delhi or location having shallow clay formation in order or restrict the movement of trace metals to contaminate the ground water. Apart from these more suggestion have been given for engineers, scientists and research workers in this direction.

As individuals one possesses a broad array of skills and talents. But the inability to get one’s thoughts, feelings, desires and messages across effectively to the desired audiences can hold one back. The ability to retrain one’s own language and the language of others can be challenging, empowering and creatively very exciting. Effective communication skills are really important to prospective teachers in their delivery of pedagogy, classroom management and interaction with the class. The focus of this study involves an analysis of prospective teachers’ reflections on the Spoken English class conducted to improve their communication skills.

  Adsorption technology is an eco-friendly approach for Zn2+ ions removal. For that, she attracted a great deal of attention in the last decades as a cost-efficient method for industrial effluents treatment. This paper documents the results of most recent studies removal of these ions from industrial effluents by adsorption onto several materials. The maximum adsorption efficiency of each adsorbent was optimized in terms of various operating conditions. In this paper, the influence of operational parameters such as solution pH, contact time, adsorbent dosage, particle size, temperature of the aqueous solution, initial zinc concentration and agitation speed has been presented and discussed.

  A series of 1-(2-chloro-5-nitrophenyl)-3-phenyl-2-propenones were synthesized from 2-chloro-5-nitroacetophenone with various substituted benzaldehydes by crossed-Aldol condensation. The synthesized compounds have been characterized by their physical constants and spectral data. The antimicrobial activities of synthesized 1, 3-diphenyl-2-propenone compounds have been evaluated by Kirby-Baur disc diffusion method using their respective antibacterial and fungal strains.

  Concrete has an extensive role to play both in construction and improvement of our civil engineering and infrastructure. It’s great strength, durability and versatility are properties that are utilized in the construction of roads, bridges, airport, railways, tunnels, ports and harbors and many other major infrastructure projects. To call the concrete, as high density concrete, it must have unit weight ranging from 3360 kg/m3 to 3840 kg/m3. They can, however be produced with the densities up to about 5280 kg/m3 High density concrete offers reliable, cost-efficient radiation shielding and can be used alongside other shielding materials to maximize protection in the available space. High density aggregates are the key ingredient in High density concrete. The more common aggregates used to achieve the required densities are Hematite, Ilmenite, Magnetite and Steel aggregate. The concrete was studied using Hematite (iron ore) having a density varies from 3400-3600 Kg/m3. Several properties of concretes with design mix of M30 grade were also studied that include the compression, The high density concrete was also compared with normal weight concrete of the same strength grade with respect to the above parameters. Based on the experimental investigations carried on the conventional concrete, high density Concrete has more Compressive strength, Split tensile strength, flexural strength values are found out.

  To solve the equation of Magneto hydrodynamic boundary layer flows past a moving continuous flat surface in the presence of transverse magnetic field. The governing nonlinear equations and their associated boundary conditions are transformed into linear differential equation and solve it using quartic spline collocation method. It is shown that a class of similarity equations is available if free stream velocity varies along X- coordinate. Numerical and graphical presentation of flow problem is also given.
