Pages: 257 - 261
In the technologically developing world patients with some cognitive disabilities and impairment must be provided with smart wheelchair systems for their easy navigation and safety. This paper describes the wheelchair system with user friendly touch screen and joystick interface. Use of touch-screen enables less muscle movement and less muscular pressure than the self-propelled wheelchairs which are being used from ages. It enables a disabled person to move around independently using a touch screen application which is interfaced with motors through microcontroller. In order to change the direction, the touch screen sensor is modelled to direct the user to required destination using direction keys on the screen and that values are given to microcontroller. Depending on the direction selected on the touch screen, microcontroller controls the wheel chair directions. The joystick is to translate the movement of a plastic stick into an electronic information. Then it is processed through a controller. The speed controller works by varying the average voltage sent to the motor. This is done by switching the motors supply on and off very quickly using PWM technique. The methodology adopted is based on grouping a microcontroller with a touch screen.

Pages: 262 - 267
The pH control process stays in center in a wide range of industries including wastewater treatment, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and chemical processing. The general aim is to maintain the pH value within a liquid at a specific level. The objective of this process is to neutralize the fluid under test by regulating the reagent solution flow rate until the mixture stabilizes at set point. After analyzing the mathematical model of the process, Simulink model is developing. Neutralization process is controlling by PI controller and IMC-PI controller .The performance of the advanced controllers are comparing with that of conventional PI controller.

A Dual active bridge converter is a high efficiency power converter. This converter is provided isolation with use of solid state transformer. DAB converter consists of two H-bridges of active power control along with one high-frequency transformer. High frequency transformer (SST) provides galvanic isolation and act as energy storage device. The leakage inductance of transformer at primary and secondary side acts as energy storage component. DAB converter has considerable amount of harmonics. The aim is to reduce the harmonics. This paper discusses sinusoidal pulse width modulation technique (SPWM) to achieve harmonics reduction. Solid state transformer is a high frequency transformer can be used as power electronic converter. The three stage SST configuration includes ac to dc rectifier, isolated dc to dc dual active bridge converter, dc to ac inverter. The switching frequency of inverter part is greater than DAB part so inverter stage is model for double line frequency i.e. at 120 Hz. The second harmonics are dominant at this frequency. For better performance of DAB converter PI control is used but at 120 Hz it has limited gain. To proposed methods are PI plus feed forward and PI plus Resonant controller.

Pages: 281 - 283
Now a day in the fast growing industrial age every industry needs speed in manufacturing to cope up with customer’s requirement. The basic objective of this project is to develop a minimum weight and low cost industrial pallets for handling engine blocks. From this we achieve faster transportation. Material handling is a very broad topic of science discussion, therefore the main idea behind developing such a design to demonstrate the situation of pallets utilization in industries and related affecting factors. The final model is a combination of standardize process and the simplicity ideas.

Secure Semantic Search over Encrypted Cloud Data with Ranking Integrity

Pages: 284 - 287
With the advent of cloud computing, more and more information data are outsourced to the public cloud for economic savings and ease of access. However, the privacy information has to be encrypted to guarantee the security. To implement efficient data utilization, search over encrypted cloud data has been a great challenge. The existing solutions depended entirely on the submitted query keyword and didn’t consider the semantics of keyword. Thus the search schemes are not intelligent and also omit some semantically related documents. In view of the deficiency, as an attempt, we propose a semantic expansion based similar search solution over encrypted cloud data. Our solution could return not only the exactly matched files, but also the files including the terms semantically related to the query keyword. In the proposed scheme, a corresponding file metadata is constructed for each file. Then both the encrypted metadata set and file collection are uploaded to the cloud server. With the metadata set, the cloud server builds the inverted index and constructs semantic relationship library (SRL) for the keywords set. After receiving a query request, the cloud server first finds out the keywords that are semantically related to the query keyword according to SRL. Then both the query keyword and the extensional words are used to retrieve the files. The result files are returned in order according to the total relevance score. TPA is used to audit the rank and provide the accurate relevance score. Eventually, detailed security analysis shows that our solution is privacy-preserving and secure under the previous searchable symmetric encryption (SSE) security definition.

Pages: 288 - 293
Clinical documents are increasing daily in higher numbers with the patient’s health condition which is recovering and deteriorating continuously. Different existing healthcare systems are used in hospitals to store this health records. Privacy of patients becomes an issue due to these not so secure healthcare systems. This collected data is too large to store on small devices or to compute on it. Cloud-assisted e-healthcare system is proposed to store this huge dynamic data and providing privacy to the patient’s sensitive health records. The problem is that cloud might be semi-honest means it will help to store patient’s private data securely but also curious to know that private data. Therefore here we are proposing Secured Cloud-assisted e-Healthcare System (SCHS). E-healthcare system provides patients health monitoring, disease modeling and evidence based solutions from recognized healthcare providers or physicians. Secure data aggregation technique is used to aggregate data from different sources. For this, a secure and efficient Additive ElGamal algorithm that supports both homomorphic addition and multiplication is used. Finally, performance evaluations demonstrate our system achieves higher security and optimized storage and advantage over communication and computation overhead.

Pages: 294 - 300
Driver drowsiness is one of the major causes of road accidents and it can lead to serious physical injuries, loss of human life, damage to property & loss of money. So a reliable driver drowsiness detection system is needed to be implemented, which could alert the driver before anything undesired happens. In this paper, design and implementation of ‘Driver Drowsiness Detection System with Audio-Visual Warning’ will be discussed. This system is to be developed for car driver, but the scope of this system is far more than it. It can be used in any situation where a person’s drowsiness is needed to be monitored. The proposed system will use a camera that takes images of driver’s face and monitors the driver’s eyes in order to detect drowsiness of driver. When fatigue is detected, the alarm will be used to alert the driver. The proposed system will work in three main stages, in first stage the face of the driver is detected and tracked. In the second stage the facial features are extracted for further processing. In last stage, eye’s status is monitored. In this last stage it is determined that whether the eyes are closed or open. On the basis of this result the warning is issued to the driver. For this Raspberry pi with raspbian (Linux) OS is used. The camera will be connected through USB port of Raspberry pi. The image processing will be done using OpenCV.

Pages: 301 - 303
Document Image Binarization is performed in the pre-processing stage for document analysis and it aims to segment the foreground text from the document background. Thresholding is found as well-known technique for binarization of image. Thresholding methods can be categorized into two groups as global thresholding and local (adaptive) thresholding methods. The main objective of this paper is to use adaptive thresholding method and compare existing system with proposed system.

this demo shows exercises held at Jadavpur University using a combination of virtual labs (basically electronic circuit simulation) and pocket labs. The use of pocket labs in education enables students to follow their own time schedule and makes it possible to repeat exercises for a better understanding. Two exercises will be shown, both of them using National Instruments’ myDAQ: Basic electronic circuit design compares the simulation result of Multiuse with a real circuit on a breadboard, and computer science and programming lectures will use a Jadavpur University -designed mini System. All exercises using pocket labs are designed to be done at home by students.
