Stabilization of soil is important to enhance the engineering properties of expansive soil like strength, volume stability and durability. The Black cotton soils are very hard when dry, but lose its strength completely when in wet condition Expansive soils (black cotton soil) are a worldwide problem that poses several challenges for civil Engineers. In this research has been made to stabilize the soil using Fly ash and Lime. Experimental work has been carried out with 10%, 20%, and 30% of Fly ash as well 5 %, 10 % and 15% of lime content. The experimental work is based on different percentages of Fly ash and lime content in soil on tests for soil Atterberg limit, California Bearing Ratio test, Unconfined Compression Test and Standard Proctor Test. The aim of this project was done by utilizing binding materials to improve the engineering properties of the black cotton soil.

PAPR Reduction Method for OFDM Based Massive MIMO Systems

The problem of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) based massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) downlink systems is considered. OFDM consist of large number of independent subcarriers, as a result of which the amplitude of such a signal can have high peak values. The peak to average power ratio of a transmitted signal is one of main challenges in OFDM or MIMO-OFDM. Understanding the effects of PAPR on OFDM and MIMO-OFDM systems is critical when determining what techniques to use improve system performance. Selective-Mapping (SLM) scheme which does not require the transmission of side information and can reduce the PAPR in OFDM system is proposed. SLM is a distortion less technique that can reduce PAPR efficiently without increase in power requirement and incurring data rate loss. Simulation results show that the system can achieve significant reduction in PAPR and satisfactory bit error rate performance over AWGN channels.

The main objective of this study is to investigate the use of fiber materials in geotechnical applications and to evaluate the effects of polypropylene fibers and brick powder (demolition brick masonry waste) with various percentage of 0.2%,0.3%,0.4%,0.5% polypropylene fiber and 20%,25%,30%,35% brick powder added making the soil stabilize and rigid . it is increase in shear strength and density of soil. in this project we are planned to investigate various experiment like specific gravity , sieve analysis , proctor compaction test , unconfined compressive strength and CBR test to increase the strength of soil properties The results obtained are compared with the four soil samples collected from two different regions and two different type of soil The inferences are drawn towards the usability and effectiveness of fiber and brick powder reinforcement as a replacement of soil for deep foundation or raft foundation, as a cost effective approach.

In many life testing experiments ‘directions’ are the observations. Directional data have many new and distinctive characteristics and challenges in terms of its modelling as well as in conducting statistical analysis. To draw more meaningful inferences, many circular models were developed from the existing linear distributions using variety of techniques like wrapping, inverse stereographic projections etc. In this article an attempt is made to construct a circular model for the Exponentiated Inverted Weibull Distribution by using the method of wrapping. Exponentiated Inverted Weibull is considered to be the most frequently used probability distribution for analyzing the life time data with some monotone failure rates. In this paper the probability density function, distribution function and characteristic function are derived for this Wrapped Exponentiated Inverted Weibull Distribution. The Trigonometric moments and important population characteristics for this wrapped EIW Distribution are computed.

The Aluminium based Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) are generating wide interest in aerospace, automobile, space, transportation and underwater applications. This is mainly due to its superior and tailorable properties such as light weight, low density, high hardness, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. The present research work is related to the fabrication of Al6061/SiCp MMC by a low cost stir casting technique. The MMCs plates are prepared by varying the weight percentage of SiCp from 5% to 15%. The microstructural investigation of the resulting as-cast composite structures has been carried out using Optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and Wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (WD-XRF). The 6061 Al alloy - SiCp composite microstructure shows excellent distribution of SiCp in to 6061Al alloy matrix. Moreover, XRD analysis reveals the uniform presence of SiC particles into matrix.

This paper presents the protection of 3 phase induction motor by using numerical relay. This project is based on the study of three phase induction motor and its faults and other is study of numerical relay. This protection system is different to others because of numerical relay. Motor is connected to the three phase supply with help of contactor and MCB. Contactor is provided continuous supply to the motor. CT is connected to the numerical relay. When any fault is occurred in the motor at that time relay is sense the fault and sends a tripping signal to the contactor. Contactor opens the contacts and motor is disconnected from supply. Now motor is perfectly protected.

A piston is a reciprocating part of an engine which is bound by a cylinder and plays the role of changing the heat and pressure energy produced by rapid combustion of fuel in the combustion cycle into mechanical work. Since the piston is acted upon by so much forces, it has to be designed in such a way that it can withstand all of them without any shear failure. Over the past decades, Aluminium has managed to prevail as the best material to be used as piston, but after the discovery of aluminium alloys, the latter has taken the privilege. Aluminium alloys are much light and possess great moduli and thermal properties which puts them in the front seat. In this paper we have done a comparative study of structural and thermal behavior of piston when designed using commonly used Aluminium and Al 6082-T6 alloy. The results were quite appealing and satisfying to choose Al 6082-T6 to serve as a better piston material over the conventional aluminium and other alloys. For this, piston was modeled in Solidworks 14 and analysed in Ansys 15.

Ethnomedicine is a subfield of ethnobotany that deals with the traditional medicines not only those that have relevant written sources (eg. Traditional Chinese Medicine, Siddha, Ayurveda), but especially those, whose knowledge and practices have been orally transmitted over the centuries. Chitrakoot is well known for its beautiful hill ranges, historical caves, perennial streams and varied flora and fauna. An attempt has been made to identify folklore medicinally important plants frequently used by tribal and rural communities of temple towns of Chitrakoot district. In mythologies plants were expressed green, flourishing and delicate that its fruit was eternity and life lasting that was existence of other plants. Intensive field explorations were undertaken in 17 temple towns of Chitrakoot district during different season of 2013 to 2015. In this article, it is tried to investigate some mythological plants and related beliefs among different nations and religions. A total of 38 mythological and medicinal species belonging to 36 genera and 29 families were enumerated.

Nanopowder mixed Electrical discharge machining (NPMEDM) is a non-conventional machining process used to manufacture intricate profiles, complex cavities in dies and molds, machining of advanced materials that are extremely difficult to machine by conventional machining processes. In recent years, researches have emphasized on machining of workpiece material after the addition of nano particles into the dielectric fluid of EDM. This technology is termed as NPMEDM.
