Efficiency Improvement in Boiler by Trimming Oxygen

Thermal efficiency of boiler can easily improve by number of methods. Some of them required big changes in the system, but some of the techniques are available by which it is very easy to improve the boiler efficiency without major changes. This paper focus on this issue that how the efficiency can improve of the three different boiler - two spreader stoker, one FBC of one of the power plant at leading chemical unit which have same steam producing capacity of 30 TPH at 56kg/cm2(g) pressure. Management of the company argued that they want to improve the efficiency and reduce the cost with very less changes in the system. One of the best methods for that is trimming oxygen and reduces excess air with control the level of CO. An online flue gas monitoring system or flue gas analyzer is required to measure oxygen level, excess air, CO level and various losses in the boiler at economizer outlet, APH outlet, ESP outlet and ultimately find efficiency of the boiler. Controlling of oxygen is done by ID and FD fan damper.

In last few years, many new composites is being developed day by day because of their high specific mechanical strength. In this work, analysis of mechanical behavior of sisal, jute and coir fiber reinforced epoxy (LY551) composite was studied. Composite laminates by mixing sisal, jute and coir fiber and epoxy with proper curing agents by compression molding method. This was placed on the matched plate mold and pressed at 1500PSI for 24 hours at 1000C temperature. The sisal, jute and flax fiber reinforced epoxy Resin Composites manufactured at various ratios such as (15:15:5, 20:10:5& 25:5:5 (gm.)). The composite proportion ratio between fiber and resin was taken as (35:65). We would like to analyze and check the Mechanical Properties of Sisal Jute and Coir Fiber reinforced epoxy resin composites by testing the Tensile Strength, Impact and Water Absorption capacity.

This paper is focused in importance of simulation in designing approach. The static test are created in this paper. The designed frame has been investigated in a variety of altered circumstances to predict that whether the frame will endure during and after the impact or fail in crash or hitting condition or in working condition. The outcomes from these simulated result show that the frame should indeed be safe sufficient in the range of worst case of crash or hitting situations.

The aim is to increase the value of products, satisfying the product’s performance & customer’s requirements at the lowest possible cost. The basic problem is that desired qualities of products are not obtained and also the cost prices of the products are more than the sale price. Apart from this there were problems related to labor required and kinds of raw materials. Here we focus on complete manufacture injection molding process cycle to minimize company loss. To carry out this project we worked in TATA Auto Comp manufacturing industry and selected a list of parts that were in negative margin. These parts were having high cost price so a brief study was made regarding these parts. Out of the study we revealed that with the help of value Analysis it helps to optimize the unnecessary cost of the products and boost up company profit.

Reduction of energy consumption is a major concern in vapor compression cooling systems, especially in areas with very hot weather conditions. During summer seasons, performance of these systems decrease sharply and electrical power consumption increases considerably. Air cooled condensers are usually employed in Household Refrigerators and Heat pumps. The heat rejection rate from the condenser significantly reduces as surrounding temperature increases. There is a scope to enhance the performance of a household refrigerator by utilizing forced convection heat transfer and evaporation. This work investigates the effect of various types of condensers on the performance of household refrigerators. Evaporative condensers enhance the heat rejection process by using the cooling effect of evaporation and therefore improve energy usage efficiency. This work primarily concentrates on the energy consumption of domestic refrigerators and related performance issues. In addition to the above, the work investigates the effects of critical parameters such as air flow rate, humidity, heat transfer coefficient on the COP of the system. Finally, comparison between different types of condensers is presented.

There is a little thermal comfort research in educational institutions reported from India. Energy consumption in Indian educational institutions is one of the highest, and it is increasing at a phenomenal rate. Indian standards advocate two narrow ranges of temperatures for all building and climate types. In this context, a field study was conducted following Class-II protocols, for 10 days in November 2016, in Saintgits college of Engineering, Kerala. Over 120 subjects were involved, giving 430 datasets. The comfort band (voting within -1 and +1) based on the regression analysis was found to be 23.6°C to 32.9℃ with the neutral temperature at 28℃. This is way above the limits (23–26℃) set by Indian standards. Also, the comfort level of humidity and air velocity was found. The comfort level of relative humidity is in range of 61.9 to 91.6% with a neutral humidity at 77.82% and comfort level of air velocity is 0.43-0.49 m/s with a neutral velocity at 0.4625m/s The PMV was always found to be higher than the actual sensation vote. These findings have far reaching energy implications in a developing country like India.
