Steel has widely used in industries because of its geometric properties, such as hardness, high flexibility and ability to resist static and dynamic loads. In this project a sample of steel alloy type EN-31 is selected where various heat treatments like annealing, quenching and normalizing are carried out for improving its mechanical properties. After that heat treated samples are used for different mechanical tests like tensile, hardness etc. From the project procedure which heat treatment’s better for improving material properties will be investigated.

Pages: 11 - 16
With modernization and increase in the number of automobiles worldwide, the consumption of diesel and gasoline has enormously increased. As petroleum is nonrenewable source of energy and the petroleum reserves are scarce nowadays, there is a need to search for alternative fuels for automobiles. Turpentine oil has been used in direct injection CI engine as an alternate fuel has similar properties as that of diesel. Acetylene is also a very good alternate fuel. In the present work, blend of different proportion of turpentine and diesel use in the diesel engine in which Acetylene was also introduced through intake manifold at a point closer to the intake valve by a non-return valve arrangement through a flame trap. The flow of acetylene was controlled 3 liters per minute by needle valve and was measured by a calibrated gas flow meter. The experiment run set was prepared by design of experiment in which L9 orthogonal array used for the experiment where different blend proportion, injection pressure and the load are the variable parameters and FC, SFC and Brake thermal efficiency are the output parameters. In this work optimization parameter run set is identify and validation test will also performed on this run set for the validation.

Mechanical Engineering
Year: 2017, Volume:3, Issue : 12
Pages: 17 - 19
The present review provides the brief information about the casting shakeout machine used in the foundry industry and the actual shakeout process. The bearing used in the casting shakeout machine plays a vital role in complete shakeout process. Roller element bearings are used in the casting shakeout machine. Here, the failure of roller element bearing is also discussed in detail. In particular, the fault detection in the rolling element bearing of casting shakeout, diagnosis of the fault and also the prognosis, which is in combine called as condition based maintenance (CBM) is discussed in this paper. The emphasis has been put on various prognosis methods used for bearings. Although lot of work has been carried out in the area of bearing fault diagnosis but area of bearing prognostics need to be explored to estimate correctly remaining useful life (RUL) of bearing. Further development is required particularly for difficult cases of rotating machinery in practical applications, where number of failure modes could be expected due to different loading and operating conditions. Accurate bearing prognosis requires signals from several sensors which are costly and difficult to install in already mounted industrial machines. All these methodologies related to the bearings of casting shakeout machine is discussed in this paper.

A majority dominating set D of a fuzzy graph G is a split majority dominating set if the induced fuzzy sub graph is disconnected. A majority dominating set D of a fuzzy graph G is a non- split majority dominating set if induced fuzzy sub graph is connected. In this paper we study split and non-split majority domination in fuzzy graphs and its domination numbers .Also bounds with other known parameters are discussed.

Pages: 24 - 27
Patient-monitoring systems became an important topic and research field today. Research on health monitoring were developed for many applications such as military, homecare unit, hospital, sports training and emergency monitoring system. Patient monitoring systems are gaining their importance as the fast-growing elderly population demands for caretaking. These systems use wireless technologies to transmit vital signs for medical evaluation. This technique presents a system to upgrade existing health monitoring systems in the hospitals by providing monitoring capability and thus a better cure.

Pages: 28 - 34
The performance of conventional concrete is enhanced by the addition of fibers and Nano silica in concrete. In this paper the behavior of RC slab structures by using Natural hybrid natural Fiber (coir and hair) and Nano silica reinforced Concrete (NHFRC) was determined. The mix design was done for M25 grade concrete as per IS: 10262: 2009. The various percentages of fibers ranging from 0.5% to 2.5% by weight of cement were used in the investigations and the various percentages of Nano silica ranging from 0.2% to 4.5% by weight of cement were used in the investigations. The Simply supported one-way slab specimens were casted with NHFR and Nano silica of the various percentages, cured and tested for 28 day strength. The Static loading behavior of the NHFRC with NS specimen were obtained and compared with control specimens. Hybrid fiber dosages of 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, and 2.5% and the slabs were subjected to two static line loads at third points of the slab by hydraulic jacks. Totally 6 slabs were casted and tested including control slab specimen. The test results shown that use of NHFRC with Nano silica improves loading performance of slab under static loading.

Optimal Operating Policies of EPQ Model for Deteriorating Items with Time Dependent Production Having Production Quantity Dependent Demand
Dr. K. Aruna Kumari

Year: 2017, Volume:3, Issue : 12
Pages: 35 - 43
Inventory models play an important role in determining the optimal ordering policies. Much work has been reported in literature regarding inventory models with finite or infinite replenishment. But in many practical situations the replenishment is governed by random factors like procurement, transportation, environmental condition, availability of raw material etc., hence, it is needed to develop inventory models with different types of demand. In this paper we develop and analyze an inventory model with the assumption that the demand is power pattern and follows an exponential distribution. However, in some other inventory systems the demand is dependent on production quantity for example in oil exploration industries, manufacturing industries; the demand is a function of production quantity. To analyze this sort of situations an economic production quantity (EPQ) model for deteriorating item is developed with the assumption that the production rate is time dependent and demand is dependent on the production quantity Q. It is further assumed that the demand rate is of the form where , λ and τ are positive constants. This demand rate also includes the constant rate of demand, when = 0. The instantaneous level of inventory at any given time‘t’ is derived through differential equations. With suitable cost considerations the optimal ordering policies are obtained.

Our team project is about the working of flight control surfaces by using mechanical system. In mechanical flight control system the control stick is moved by external force of pilot to deflect the primary and secondary control surface. The prototype of flight control surface was made from Cessna-172 aircraft by reducing scale ratio of it. The movement of control surface is obtained by the applied force on the control stick or pedal is transmitted to pulleys by cable. Then the tension of cable to make the control surface deflection. Demonstrate the mechanism of mechanical flight control system and their components. Understand the concept of force transfer through the pulleys, cables, gears and chain.

Pages: 56 - 60
The system needs to measure, acquire and store the parameters of electric power or solar battery equipment, including alternating and direct voltage and current, temperature and luminous flux. They then are stored in system memory, and can be accessed through network. The system can measure the parameters of the time, store them in system memory, and send them to clients through network periodically according to internet network protocols. It can be sent the range of these parameters as SMS. The hardware design of embedded system and the ADC value of the temperature sensor and Luminous sensor, DC and AC voltage and current values are read by the PIC 16f877a and gas sensor is used to detect the Harmful gases when the gases are detect GSM sent the messages to controller room at the same time we can get all the values of sensor to monitor the industrials.
