  Normally the Concrete filled columns without shear connectors, under major loads they undergo buckling phenomena, in order to overcome this phenomena, Concrete Filled Steel Tube (CFST) columns were taken in to an account because of its greater strength and malleability recital contributed by the composite action. At early elastic stage this composite action cannot be absolutely developed as the expansion of steel was quite more than that of concrete. This in turn, creates deficient interface bonding between the composites. Thus, it cut down the elastic stiffness and strength of the CFST columns. To overcome this lacuna in the initial elastic stage, provision of shear connectors was carried out to reduce the lateral dilation of the concrete core and steel. In this experimental work, CFST columns of assorted proportions, with shear connectors were tested for axial compression. A mix design for M40 grade of concrete was adopted, in order to increase the workability of concrete a High Range Water Reducing Admixture (HRWRA) was used in the mixes which showed better compressive strength. High strength bolt (8.8) with smooth shank was used as shear connectors. CFST columns give an L/d (length to diameter) ratio of 2 to prevent local buckling. A chemical admixture, the spacing of the shear connectors in the shear direction is 5d, and in the transverse direction is 2.5d.

  Text detection in handwritten image has gained widespread interests. Detection of the texts from handwritten images is a challenging problem due to the multiple fonts, different sizes, various orientations and alignment, reflections, shadows, the complexity of image background. Text detection and segmentation from handwritten images are useful in many applications. We present a method called Markov Random Method for image operator that seeks to find the value of each image pixel, and demonstrate their use on the task of text detection in natural, which makes it fast and robust enough to eliminate the need for multi scale computation or scanning windows. A notable work, which is Markov Random Field method (MRF), has been attracting much interest due to its simplicity and efficiency. However, the Stroke Width Transform (SWT), and OCR has difficulty in situations like blur, low contrast, and illumination change, since it is highly relies on the outcome from the edge detector. Here region based approach MRF (Markov Random Field) with stroke width transform (SWT) method is proposed for automatic detection and extraction of text from handwritten images and explains the methodology to extract and recognize text. The applications of region based image segmentation by MRF for text detection from image has given the scope to us to include the important technologies like Text Information Extraction, Stroke Width Transformation etc. which will helps to improve the efficiency of work.

  Web is the fundamental source for the generation of information or data in tremendous amount. However, each and individual site classify their own data but fetching the classified data from the multiple website is not possible. Clustering the web data is the main challenge in the web data mining where an efficient approach is needed to cluster it. In the proposed system, multiple webpage are fetched by web crawling technique then the data are extracted, classified using the PSO algorithm. The fitness value gives good classification result and provides a novel searching technique. The experimental setup is carried out in java language and the accuracy of this approach is 80%.

  Thyroid is the major disorder occurs due to the lack of thyroid hormone among women than man. The test report of thyroid includes number of attributes such as TSH, T3, TT4, T4U and more. Manually determining the disorder for number of peoples test report is not easier. So, using the data mining approach will made this task simpler by predicting the disorder from the large dataset. Traditionally, Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) data mining technique is used to predict the thyroid disorder. In our proposed work, the random forest approach is utilized to predict the hypothyroid disorder by collecting the dataset from UCI repository. The performance measure is calculated from the confusion matrix with the accuracy. The experimental result is obtained from the Weka tool.

  Intake manifold is the part of an engine that supplies the fuel/air mixture to the cylinder. The intake manifold is essential for the optimal performance of an internal combustion engines. Intake manifold is the breathing system of the car engine which supplies air to the engine cylinders where the combustion of the fuel occurs. The primary function of the intake manifold is to evenly distribute the combustion mixture (or just air in a direct injection engine) to each intake port in the cylinder head. Even distribution is important to optimize the efficiency and performance of the engine. It may also serve as a mount for the carburetor, throttle body, fuel injectors and other components of the engine. Due to the downward movement of the pistons and the restriction caused by the throttle valve, in a reciprocating spark ignition piston engine, a partial vacuum (lower than atmospheric pressure) exists in the intake manifold. This review paper has main aim is the gain understanding of the flow characteristics inside an intake manifold which is fitted with an intake restrictor. Geometrical design of intake manifold is very important for the good performance of an IC engine. Unequal velocity distribution of intake air of runner’s outlets of intake manifold makes it less efficient. The reported works aims to makes this unequal velocity distribution of velocity in nearly equal manner with increase of velocity at outlet without any major modification in design of intake manifold. To achieve the desired improve result two other models of same intake manifold with different design configuration are made in software then examine the results of this two models with original one to find out pressure and velocity losses. After analysis of models it noticed that the hidden projections of nut, projected stiffeners and depth cuts o extreme of plenum causes pressure loses due to which uneven distribution takes place at runner’s outlets.
