  The substantial increase in urban population, industrial and commercial activities in most of the Indian cities have increased the demand for transport. The urban population growth forced the cities to spread and this expansion has resulted in an increased need for mobility. The public transport systems face a challenge to keep in pace with this rapid increase in demand and growing need for connectivity. Inadequate transport facilities will further lead to sub optimal use of public transportation and the relative output of the city public transportation will be further reduced. In recent years, the growing necessity for public transportation and the incapacity of the administration to invest has led to the emergence of Intermediate Public Transport (IPT). So, there is a need to assess the quality of IPT. The IPT nowadays has become an indispensable mode of transportation across urban India. The service flexibility of IPT makes it a vital transport system to fill the gap within the organized public transport system. IPT acts as a feeder to mass transit system in large cities and acts as a primary mode of public transport in small cities. In urban area IPT helps in improving the mobility, but uncontrolled growth of IPT results in reduced air quality and safety due to increased emissions and traffic congestion. An effective management of IPT helps in sustainable urban transport. For effective management, we must monitor the performance. To carry out the study, Visakhapatnam city has been selected as a case study area. The performance of IPT in Visakhapatnam city has been evaluated by considering performance areas and key performance indicators representing the respective area are chosen. The overall performance of the IPT system is assessed based on these performance indicators by using the concept of benchmarking which considers city, system and passenger perspective. The performance report of IPT by benchmarking has been derived which shows that IPT of Visakhapatnam city is performing in better way in the areas of travel speed, affordability and it is also observed that it is safer mode to travel compared to private two wheeler mode. The areas that need to be improved are identified and suggestions are given to improve them in the report card. To consider the user perception of the quality of service and their level of satisfaction numerical rating approach has been chosen, by numerical rating, deficiency from acceptable level is observed in average waiting time and vehicle occupancy.

  Substituting composite structures for conventional metallic structures has many advantages because of higher specific stiffness and strength of composite materials. This work deals with the replacement of conventional steel propeller shafts with Kevlar and high modulus carbon/epoxy composite propeller shafts for an automotive application. The design parameters were optimized with the objective of minimizing the weight of composite propeller shaft. The design optimization also showed significant potential improvement in the performance of propeller shaft.

  We now know that organisation is one of the major functions of management. One can look at organising as an activity to eliminate chaos and introduce a systematic functioning in the enterprise. Technically, the organisation helps in establishing authorities, dividing workloads, assigning responsibilities, grouping tasks and allocating resources. This is of utter importance because once the plans have been laid there is a need to allocate resources, divide tasks, workforce, ensure optimal utilisation of resources etc. so that the objectives are fulfilled. Further, it facilitates the collective working of the various members of the enterprise in an ordered manner. Also, organisation involves defining various roles that need to be filled by suitable employees and establishing relationships between these defined goals to eliminate ambiguities in performance. In turn, this groups the activities clarifies the amount of power and authority in the hands of different employees and clarifies the responsibility for various activities within the enterprise. In a nutshell, an organisation can be defined as a process that defines the resources as well as allocate them, coordinates human efforts and integrates both in order to achieve the defined goals. Organisation brings adaptability to the table for any enterprise. It helps in a smooth transition in accordance with the dynamic business environment. To point out, this is achieved by facilitating growth and survival. Organisation assigns work in a systematic manner to the diverse employees within an organisation. It ensures that suitable work is handed out repetitively to an employee who is a good performer in his field. An employee working regularly in a specific area gains invaluable experience in the long run. Consequently, this leads to specialisation.

  The muffler is a very important and an indispensable part of an automobile exhaust system. The primary function of a muffler is to reduce noise and vibrations of the exhaust emissions from the engine cylinder. The exhaust gases inside the engine cylinder are at a temperature of around 1200K, while the temperature at which the gases are expelled into the atmosphere is around 300K. The muffler also reduces backpressure. This increases the efficiency of the engine and also the power consumed. In this paper, a CAD model of a laminar flow performance muffler has been designed, which consists of a converging-diverging duct. These ducts contain perforations on their walls through which the exhaust gases scatter after passing in different directions. The material of a muffler should be resistant to corrosion at high temperatures, salt corrosion resistance from the high-temperature exhaust gas, vibration resistance and at the same time it should also possess sufficient strength to withstand high stresses and also be light in weight and affordable at the same time.

  Quantum cryptography is described as a point-to-point secure key generation technology that has emerged in recent times in providing absolute security. Researchers have started studying new innovative approaches to exploit the security of QKD for a large-scale communication system. A number of approaches and models for utilization of QKD for secure communication have been developed. The uncertainty principle in quantum mechanics created a new paradigm for QKD. One of the approaches for use of QKD involved network fashioned security. The main goal was point-to-point Quantum network that exploited QKD technology for end-to-end network security via high speed QKD. Other approaches and models equipped with QKD in network fashion are introduced in the literature as. A different approach that this paper deals with is using QKD in existing protocols, which are widely used on the Internet to enhance security with main objective of unconditional security. Our work is towards the analysis of the quantum cryptography in MANET.

  Agriculture is the backbone for every nation, whereas, it needs a lot of manpower to cultivate a good yield. The first stage in agriculture is to make the land suitable for cultivation by ploughing. The traditional ploughing method is time consuming, thereby, farmers use tractors for ploughing. Ploughing through tractors, needs much of attention. To overcome the difficulties in ploughing through tractors, the operation of tractor is being automated. The existing automated self-driving tractors employ GPS (Global Positioning System) to track the ploughing path and to locate the areas, where the seeds need to be sowed. The major drawbacks in fully automated tractor is trajectory planning which needs complex calculation and accurate directions based on velocity, time and kinematics. These disadvantages can be overcome by designing and making a semi-automatic tractor with Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) technique to control the movement of the tractor through mobile. The DTMF uses GSM technology for the transmission and reception of signals. The signals generated by DTMF are transmitted with the help of mobile communication network. The signals generated by DTMF are decoded and processed in the Arduino microcontroller, which generates the signal to drive the tractor. The advantage of using DTMF is that it has infinite range of control and the system control remains simple and efficient and easy to operate.
