Agriculture is the backbone of India. In India almost all farmers facing problems of labour shortage. In today’s world we required faster productivity in less time. About 65-70 % of Indian population depends upon agriculture. So for fulfilling the future demands there is need of advancement in techniques and equipment’s of farming at economic cost because in India every farmer can’t afford tractor and other high cost machine equipment for the harvesting. Day by day labour wages are increasing and in the same way demand of agriculture products are also increasing and today’s world need faster rate of production of agriculture products. This machine does the work with less efforts and in less time so it reduces cost of labour required for seed sowing and fertiliser placement. The cutting force of sugarcane is varied 29.14 to 106.57 N.

The Segway Human Transporter is one of several low-speed transportation devices (e.g., bikes, scooters, wheelchairs) that, under certain circumstances, travel on sidewalks, roadways, and other shared-use paths. The objective of this research was to examine the primary operating characteristics of the Segway. In this thesis, we designed and constructed mechanically based system for a two wheel balancing Segway robot. In this paper we present a Segway based on gyro sensor, accelerometer along with a microcontroller and use of mechanical and electrical hardware’s. The dynamics of the vehicle is similar to the classical control problem of an inverted pendulum, which means that it is unstable and prone to tip over. This is prevented by electronics sensing the pitch angle and its time derivative, controlling the motors to keep the vehicle balancing. This kind of vehicle is interesting since it contains a lot of technology relevant to an eco-friendly and energy efficient transportation industry. This thesis describes the development of a similar vehicle from scratch, incorporating every phase from literature study to planning, design, vehicle construction and verification. The main objective was to build a vehicle capable of transporting a person weighing up to 70-80 kg and capable of travelling to some km distance with varying speed. The rider controls are supposed to be natural movements; leaning forwards or backwards in combination with tilting the handlebar sideways should be the only rider input required to ride the vehicle. This thesis also takes into consideration the material used with minimum possible cost. The design of Segway Human Transporter is such that it covers less space and comfort to the user.

Driver’s inattentiveness is one of the main causes for most accidents related to vehicle crashes. Safe driving is the major concept in the societies to reduce accidents. Long distance driving cause driver fatigue due to which heavy accident occurs of vehicles like cars, aero planes, trucks etc. So it is very necessary to prevent the accidents all over the world. This paper presents the procedure of driver’s drowsiness detection system which measures the drowsiness and fatigue level of driver. An initial buzzer is used to alert the driver after the system detects that the driver is in drowsy condition. In this system a camera is placed in front of driver’s face in car which records the video of driver. The MATLAB will be used to detect the eye of driver that is conducted using the process of extraction of face image from the live video and in case if it detects the eye closure for certain threshold time period then it beeps the alarm to aware driver. We also describe the procedure to measure the open and close of eye so from that we can accurately detect the drowsiness and fatigue level. The main criteria of this system must be that it is highly non-intrusive and the driver should not be responsible to give any kind of feedback to system.

Conventional refrigeration techniques have high energy costs and continue to generate greenhouse gasses. One possible alternative could be thermo-acoustic refrigeration technology which is nascent, environment friendly and has benefit of no moving part. Thermo-acoustic is a combined branch of acoustics and thermodynamics which studies the transfer of heat by sound waves. The Thermo-acoustic refrigerator (TAR) uses sound energy to achieve refrigeration. The only disadvantage of this thermoacoustic refrigeration is it has low C.O.P compare to other conventional cooler. But most efficient system are tried to be made. Lots of research is going on in this area. This paper is focuses on improving the efficiency of thermoacoustic refrigeration by fabrication of stack with two different material low thermal conductive material at cold side and high conductive material at hot side and providing thermal conductive material inside the resonator tube at the cold side of the stack.

Thermoacoustic refrigeration is an environmental friendly technology as it uses gases like air, helium as a refrigerant. Its biggest advantage is that they do not use harmful gas as a refrigerant. It is pollutant free method of providing refrigeration. It uses helium which is noncombustible, nonpoisonous inert gas having zero global warming effect. According to Montreal protocol which is international agreement signed by 165 countries to control the production and exchange of ozone depleting substances. It controls the import, export, manufacture, use, sale of any HCFC or product that contains or intended to contain HCFCs as this regulation comes in to play thermoacoustic refrigeration proves to be a green technology .As it does not contain any moving part other than speaker which increase the lifespan of product and decrease the maintenance cost. So it does not use lubricant. It only uses the sound wave which is pressure wave for cooling. The only disadvantage of this thermoacoustic refrigeration is it has low C.O.P compare to other conventional cooler. But most efficient system are tried to be made. Lots of research is going on in this area. This paper is focuses on use of different gases with stacks of different materials and finding best suitable or optimum combination which gives higher value of c.o.p.

Pages: 145 - 151
Aim of this research is to assess the potential of adsorbent derived from dairy industry sludge for the removal of cadmium from aqueous solution. Cadmium adsorption was studied in batch mode as a function of pH, adsorbent dose, contact time and initial metal ion concentration. The equilibrium uptake decreased with increasing adsorbent dose and increased with increasing cadmium concentration. The maximum cadmium removal was obtained at pH 6.0. The desorption efficiency of various desorbing agents is found in following order HCl>HNO3>EDTA>H2SO4. Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin isotherms were tested on experimental adsorption data to represent the equilibrium between solid and liquid phases. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models provided a much better description of experimental data than Temkin isotherm model as revealed by high correlation coefficients (R2). The maximum adsorption capacity obtained from Langmuir model equation was 24.75 mg/g of cadmium onto dairy sludge based adsorbent (DSBA). The results of present study revealed that cadmium is considerably adsorbed on dairy sludge and DSBA can be successfully used for separation of cadmium from waste stream.

Fatigue is the failure of a material when it is subjected to repeated fluctuations of constant applied stress. Fatigue life is a very important factor in the choice of materials used for various fabrication purposes. The change in fatigue life of a material when it is subjected to different manufacturing process like welding it’s an important factor of concern. This work mainly focuses on the prediction of fatigue life for spot welded joints based on its natural frequency. It changes when subjected to a fatigue load. On the basis FEM analysis, the variation of natural frequency during Crack propagation process was investigated for single spot and double spot welded specimen. The crack area was used to define the fatigue damage, and to establish relationship between damage area and natural frequency ratio. The residual fatigue life of specimen, which had undergone certain fatigue damage, was predicted by means of the damage evolution principle of mechanics. The results showed that the proposed damage parameter can describe the fatigue process for spot welded joints. Various models required for the testing is being designed using Solid works software. The designed models are then exported to ANSYS software of failure analysis and the results were documented.

Unmanned aerial vehicles are aircrafts capable of flight without an on-board operator. Such vehicles can be controlled remotely by an operator on the ground, or autonomously via a pre-programmed flight path. UAVs are already being used by the military for recognizance and search and rescue operations. Our project is to design and build a Multi-rotor UAV. Our proposed design is for a lightweight, nimble craft that can be operated both indoors and out. The project poses particular challenges in terms of weight reduction and controllability. Multi-rotor crafts generally support only a light payload, as they are required to carry the weight of the power supply, a heavy battery, onboard. Thus, weight reduction of all components is essential in order to allow for sufficient lift force. The controls system for such a craft is also complex, as it requires the synchronization of four individual motors. These motors must be closely controlled in order to account for variations between the motors (one motor slightly more powerful than the others will upset the equilibrium of the craft), and in order to effectively dampen external disturbances. We succeeded in building a craft structure that was both stiff and lightweight, using carbon fiber and ABS plastic. We incorporated in our vehicle a closed loop, proportional control system which measured in-flight dynamics via a single axis gyro and two dual axis tilt-sensors. A microcomputer took these sensor inputs and performed proportional control on the four motors by varying PWM signals sent to each of the motors. The result of our project is an advanced prototype for autonomous flight. The controls software is fully operative, though it is hindered by unreliable operation of the tilt-sensors. Future work will allow refinements in the control system hardware that will ultimately lead to stable, untethered flight. Our user defined project is concerned about combination of helicopter & automobile vehicle for milatry purpose & during natural calimaties in which we are going to develop a prototype of this combined vehicle named mulicopter by using a small vehicle governed by remote control for controlling, having DC brushless motors for movment of vehicle in various direction. Thi Multi-copter is a vertical lift off and landing aircraft.
