Pages: 413 - 419
The main aim of the project is to develop a new efficient optimization method, called ‘Teaching–Learning-Based Optimization (TLBO)’, for the optimization of mechanical design problems. The process of TLBO is divided into two parts. The first part consists of the ‘Teacher Phase’ and the second part consists of the ‘Learner Phase’. ‘Teacher Phase’ means learning from the teacher and ‘Learner Phase’ means learning by the interaction between learners. Teacher tries to reach best harmony on the output of learners in a class, which can be obtained through their grades considered as the output. Output is appraised by means of exam conducted by the teacher. TLBO is a population based algorithm where a group of students (i.e. learners) is considered as population and the different subjects offered to the learners is analogous with the different design variables of the optimization problem. The grades of a learner in each subject represent a possible solution to the optimization problem (value of design variables) and the mean result of a learner considering all subjects corresponds to the quality of the associated solution (fitness value). The best solution in the entire population is considered as the teacher. The method is tested on different unconstrained benchmark test functions. The effectiveness of the TLBO method is compared with Genetic Algorithm based on the best solution. Results show that TLBO is 244% more effective than the Genetic Algorithm for the unconstrained optimization problems considered. This novel optimization method is extended to an engineering design optimization problem. The TLBO method is modified for solving Multi objective optimization problems.

Pages: 420 - 425
In the study of webpage information hiding many techniques, methods, algorithms were introduced. Latest concept is inserting special blank character in the spaces between words of a cover text in webpage. This is based on the idea of implying secret data, with blank character codes. Existing systems tried to improve security and imperceptibility of data hiding by applying different schemes. Here, a modified data hiding method is proposed which improves performance in terms of capacity of data embedding. The concept uses some special codes available in HTML which are equal to ASCII space code 20 that appears as white spaces. Based on this specialty of HTML, multiplication property is chosen and it is applied to fixed number of space codes. From the generated multiplication table, select code corresponding to a group of secret bits and then embed in the spaces between words. A normal user cannot find anything suspicious in webpage, but actual receiver can extract data without loss.

Year: 2015, Volume:1, Issue : 11
Pages: 426 - 432
This project presents the main results of the works concerning with the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete beam made with coconut shell (CS) and quarry dust and these were analyzed and compared with the conventional concrete with quarry dust. In these beams, sand is fully replaced with quarry dust (Q) by calculating volume of sand and quarry dust. Utilizing CS in concrete production not only solves the problem of disposing this solid waste but also help conserve natural resources’ total of 12 beams (6 beams with coconut shell concrete and 6 beams with conventional concrete) with varying reinforcement ratio(0.5 % to 3.89 %) were fabrication and tested. Data presented include the deflection characteristics, cracking behavior, mid span deflection and strains both in compression concrete and tension in reinforcement. From the experimental investigation, it was generally observed that the flexural behavior of coconut shell concrete (CSC) is comparable to that of other type of lightweight concretes and this investigation gives encouraging results for coconut shell (CS) to be used as coarse aggregate in the production of structural lightweight concrete. It was observed that CSC beams, IS 456 can be used to obtain a conservative estimation of the ultimate moment capacity and also provide adequate load factor against failure for reinforcement ratios satisfied all the serviceability requirements as per [IS 456-2000]. The results of concrete compression strain and steel tension strain shows that CSC is able to achieve its full strain capacity under flexural loadings. However, the failure zone of CSC was larger than CC beams.

Conventional concrete is strong in compression but weak in tension. In the Conventional reinforced concrete, the benefits of steels are reinforced. To extract the maximum benefit of concrete and steel, a new form of sandwich construction, called steel-concrete-steel construction, has been developed in recent years. Also, many researchers are working for the replacement of conventional constituents. Therefore, in this project, a new steel-concrete-steel is tried with coconut shell as coarse aggregate and quarry dust as fine aggregate in the production of concrete. Totally eight beams were cast and tested for flexural behavior. There are two cases has been taken into consideration, one is without stud and with a stud. In each case four beams were cast one with conventional concrete with river sand (CCS), second with conventional concrete with quarry dust (CCQD), third with Coconut shell concrete with river sand (CSCS), fourth with Coconut shell concrete with quarry dust (CSCQD) respectively. All the beams were tested for their flexural behavior and the parameters like initial crack load, ultimate load capacity, deflections, and strains on compression plate, tension plate and also on concrete zone were studied. Test results are shown that coconut shell concrete sandwich beams behaves similar to that of conventional concrete beams and are conservatives.

Pages: 440 - 446
Biometric means uniquely identifying a person based on one or more biological trails. It is a technology that measures and analyses human body characteristics, such as fingerprints, facial patterns, speech, and irises for authentication purpose. Biometrics like finger print, face requires subject co-operation and hence fail to identify an individual at a distance. Hence recognition through gait biometric can be employed as a new method for human identification. Gait recognition basically identifies a person based on its walking pattern. This paper presents a simple method of Human identification based on unique gait features. Different features such as center of mass, step size and area of triangle formed between control point’s .i.e. coxa bone and knee bones are used. This features are computed on CASIA dataset A. Finally supervised Neural network classifier are used.

Network security consists of different policies and rules predefined by its administrator to avoid illegal access, any modification in network or its accessible resources. It is one of the biggest and challenging domain in the various fields where communication based activities continuously happened and security need to the data is high. One of the well-known applications of networking system is banking on which we are going to focus to provide security. Main issues in that is password hacking, in response, banks and other financial institutions have developed technologies like device identification, one-time password (OTP), Automated Transaction Machine (ATM) etc. But these facilities have limitations to some extent. So we are going to proposed secure online transaction system using MOTP (Mobile one-time password) and identity based Double Encryption for banking purpose which will try to overcome limitations of previous system and making strong authentication based transaction system available for permitted users. The system we called it as strong authenticated because along with double encryption we will be provide International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) as well as Short Message Service (SMS) alert facilities in case of stolen or lost mobile phones. So user will not be worry for security while using our proposed system.

Year: 2015, Volume:1, Issue : 11
Pages: 454 - 461
The estimation of a crack location and depth in a cantilever beam structure is formulated as an optimization problem and the optimal location and depth are found by minimizing the objective function. The identification of crack is done by adopting an improved PSO Algorithm. This new method combines Particle Swarm Optimization and Swallow Swarm Optimization that helps in minimizing the objective function with comparatively less time compared to standard PSO Algorithm. The fitness value of a PSO algorithm is calculated based on mean squared error (MSE) simulated response and actual response. The performance evaluation is done in frequency domain analysis. Finally, the results obtained using improved PSO algorithm is compared with the original PSO Algorithm to determine the level of accuracy.
