  This paper presents design scheme of an improved,simple and passive wind catcher windows which can close automatically without external power supply in response to wind speeds exceeding safe limits so as to avoid damages due to winds and rains in a solar passive building. Design modifications to make them more successful in Indian context are discussed here. More complex and passive designs are feasible to accommodate larger windows and/or to withstand stronger winds by changing the locking mechanisms.

  The conveniences and satisfaction derived in the use of EM radiation is being threatened by claims of adverse effects on human health by radiation coming from this device. This radiation belongs to the type called ionizing and non-ionizing radiation the health hazard of which remains debatable. Research has not been carried out on possible effect this device might have on human health and no experimental proof, based on data obtained within Nigeria, exist to substantiate any claim. Safety standards exist for radiation from cell phone but these are not reassuring. This paper investigates any possible effect of EM radiation on human heart rate and then come out with conclusion based on experimental proof as well as the controlling actions. In the wireless devices, there has been a massive increase in radiofrequency (RF) exposure from wireless devices as well as reports of hypersensitivity and diseases related to electromagnetic field and RF exposure. Multiple studies correlate RF exposure with diseases such as cancer, neurological disease, reproductive disorders, immune dysfunction, and electromagnetic hypersensitivity. Aim of this paper is to create social awareness of possible radiation hazards and precaution needed for protection.

  Motors are the necessary machines in the production of Robots and many Automation and Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical devices. This article deals with motors which are to be interfaced with the help of NI-MYRIO through NI-LabVIEW software. NI-MYRIO has inbuilt Analog and Digital signal Ports which provide necessary voltage and current to drive or to give excitation to a medium/high voltage dc or ac circuit. Relay Circuits require 5V signal from NI-MYRIO to provide 12V input for the DC Motor. When NI-MYRIO is interfaced with motors and PC installed with LabVIEW 2014, then with the help of PC or a Smartphone one can control the movements of the DC Motor

  A field experiment was conducted to determine the effect of foliar application of Humic acid on growth, yield and quality of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) cv. Arka Anamika. The experiment was carried out at Horticulture Research Centre, Chauras Campus, H.N.B. Garhwal University, Uttarakhand (India), in Randomized Block Design with three replications. 16 treatments were used during the experiment which consists of fifteen different concentration of humic acid viz., 10ml, 20ml, 30ml, 40ml, 50ml, 60ml, 70ml, 80ml, 90ml, 100ml, 110ml, 120ml, 130ml, 140ml, 150ml and control. Seventeen growth and yield characters were studied during the experiment viz., days taken to full germination, plants height (cm), number of primary branches, length of leaf (cm), width of leaf (cm), leaf area index (cm3), number of leaves, days taken to first flowering, number of flower per plant, days taken to first fruiting, number of fruit per plant, fruit length (cm), fruit diameter (cm), dry weight of leaves (g), dry weight of plant (g), total yield (ha) and vit. C. The results were found to be significant in most of the growth, yield and quality contributing characters of okra like days taken to full germination (22.33 days) were found maximum in T16 (control). Plant height T15 (208.34 cm), number of leaves per plant T15 (31.80), leaf length T15 (24.67cm), width of leaf T15 (22.87 cm), dry weight of leaf T15 (24.79 g), leaf index T15 (447.99 cm3), number of flower per plant T15 (31.13), days taken to first fruiting T16 (44.33), number of fruit per plant T15 (23.13), fruit length T15 (13.20 cm), yield per ha1 T15 (122.0 q) and vitamin C T15 (22.33 g) were found maximum in treatment T15 (150 ml/litre) and fruit diameter (1.54 cm) were found maximum in T7 (70ml/ litre). Three characters of okra showed the non-significant difference among viz., number of primary branch, days taken to first flowering and dry weight of plant. The obtained results clearly indicated that using the foliar application of humic acid T15 (150ml L-1) significantly increased plant growth, yield and quality parameters compared to control.

  Cutting force required to cut a stalk of fruit is determined experimentally and method of experimentation is discussed in the paper. Harvesting of fruits is carried out by various methods viz. jerking, by hands or by mechanization etc. Fruit harvesting by severing the stalk has its own advantage. The method presented generates the cutting force and cutting torque data for stalks which is useful in designing harvesting tools. Present experimentation carried out is limited to stalks of fruits mango, guava, custard apple and stalks of a vegetable drumstick. This experiment may be applied to generate the cutting force and cutting torque data required to sever branch tips and small stems which will be useful in developing optimum design of secateurs and trimming scissors etc. for garden tools.

  Kakrapar weir is located on river Tapi near village Kakrapar of Mandvi taluka of Surat district. Its construction was completed in 1954 for the purpose of irrigation in Gujarat state. Irrigation through Kakrapar weir was divided into two main canals i.e. Kakrapar Right Bank Main Canal (K.R.B.M.C) and Kakrapar Left Bank Main Canal (K.L.B.M.C). Annual Irrigation in K.R.B.M.C is 162.16%.This is highest among all the canals in this region. Due to insufficient maintenance, problem of leakages, seepage which is persistent in command area results in wastage of water, water logging etc. Looking to the above situation there is no other option but to increase the carrying capacity of canal. The purpose of this study is to improve the conveyance efficiency of K.R.B.M.C. It also studies how Benefit derived and Cost incurred in the project can be worked out. Thus Benefit-Cost ratio is to be studied in addition to technical feasibility and economical viability. The impact of a project on economic welfare can be evaluated in terms of the relative values of associated benefits and costs.

  The aim of this paper is to investigate the multiple attribute decision making problems with intuitionistic fuzzy information, in which the information about attribute weights are incompletely known, and the attribute values take the form of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. In order to get the weight vector of the attribute, we establish an optimization model based on the basic ideal of traditional gray relational analysis (GRA) method, by which the attribute weights can be determined. For the special situations where the information about attribute weights are completely unknown, we establish another optimization model. By solving this model, we get a simple and exact formula, which can be used to determine the attribute weights. Then, based on the traditional GRA method, calculation steps for solving an intuitionistic fuzzy environment and developed modified GRA method for intuitionistic fuzzy multiple attributes decision-making with incompletely known attribute weight information. This paper provides a new method for sensitivity analysis of MADM problems so that by sing it and changing the weights of attributes, one can determine changes in the final results for a decision making problem. Finally, an illustrative example is given to verify the developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness.

  The present investigation aims in the study of the properties of concrete in which M-sand is used as a partial and full replacement for natural sand. The use of such materials not only results in conservation of natural resources but also helps in maintaining good environmental conditions. The basic strength properties of concrete were investigated by replacing natural sand by M-sand at replacement levels of 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% sand 100% for three different mix proportion of concrete such asM30, M40 and M50. The results revealed that there is20% increase in the compressive strength, 10% increase in split tensile strength and 15% increase in flexural strength of concrete with 60% replacement of M-sand compared with conventional concrete. Hence this research concluded that the optimum percentage replacement of natural sand by M-sand is designated as 60% for the above three grades of concrete.
