  If external loads act far away from the vertical plane of bending, the beam is subjected to twisting about its longitudinal axis, known as torsion, in addition to the shearing force and bending moment. Shear stresses due to torsion create diagonal tension stresses that produce diagonal cracking. If the member is not adequately reinforced for torsion, a sudden brittle failure can occur. Since shear and moment usually develop simultaneously with torsion, a reasonable design should logically account for the interaction of these forces. However, variable cracking, the inelastic behavior of concrete, and the intricate state of stress created by the interaction of shear, moment, and torsion make an exact analysis unfeasible. The current torsion design approach assumes no interaction between flexure, shear and torsion. In the present work performance of reinforced concrete beams with and without steel fibres were studied subjected to pure torsion. The experimental program consists of casting 4 reinforced concrete beams of size 150mm X150 mm and length 2m. One of them was cast without fibres to make a comparative study with the remaining 3 beams; one beam was cast with 0.5% fibre by weight, one beam 1.0% fibre by weight in the rest one beam 1.5% fibre by weight added. The longitudinal reinforcement, spacing of shear stirrups was kept constant. The results concluded that the cracking torsional strength and ultimate torsional strength goes on increasing as the percentage of Steel fiber goes on increasing.

  This paper presents application of fuzzy logic controller for shunt active power filter to improve power quality in the distribution systems. The main feature of fuzzy logic controller does not require any complex mathematical model of the systems to regulate dc bus capacitor voltage. The reference compensating current has been estimated by unit vector template generation technique. The actual compensating current of the active power filter tracks the reference current by conventional hysteresis band current control scheme. The performance of fuzzy logic controller has been compared with conventional PI controller. The transient response of proposed fuzzy controller is found to be better than conventional PI controller. The simulation study has been performed on MATLAB simulink.

  Today’s internet community the secure data transfer is bounded due to its attack on data communication. Security of data can be achieved by implementing steganography techniques. All of the existing steganographic techniques use the digital multimedia files as a cover medium to conceal secret data. Audio file use as a cover medium in steganography because of its larger size compare to other carrier’s file such as text, image. So there are more possibilities to hide large amount of data inside digital audio file. Signals and digital audio files make suitable mediums for steganography because of its high level of redundancy and high data transmission rate. This is not easy to hide data in real time communication audio signals. In this paper we will survey the overall principles of hiding secret data in audio file using audio data hiding techniques, and deliver an overview of present techniques and functions and also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different types of audio steganography methods. In this paper we have proposed a new method of audio steganography incorporating encryption and pseudorandom sequence as a key. The secret data has been encrypted using RSA and pseudorandom sequence. The encrypted data is then embedded in the audio signals. The use of the pseudorandom sequence increases the complexity of the encryption and the RSA algorithm gives a very tight cipher design.

  Wheelchairs are one of the only means by which disabled people get to go around places. Developed countries are almost well equipped with the infrastructure to accommodate them, as in ramps and lifts, which accompany stairs. But for developing and under developed countries in Asia and Africa, such facilities are far from reality. In our own country, there are a large percentage of buildings in urban and semi urban areas, built without consideration for accessibility. A normal wheelchair user need to be lifted and carried manually by two more helpers to get to different floors of a multi-storied public building or even their own flats and apartments. One solution for this would be to modify civil structures, but that would neither be economical nor practical. So, the other solution would be to engineer a wheelchair that can ascend stairs. These are available in the market, like SCALEVO, but being the products of Japanese and American research labs, they are aimed at people who can afford such technology; not for the less fortunate majority. What made stair climbing costly for a powered wheelchair, was the complicated wheel motion, and the electronic control systems. So to simplify this we propose a Star Wheel, taking inspiration from the rack and pinion mechanism, and the cluster wheel mechanism. Also, the complex and expensive control systems can be replaced by an even more sophisticated, but freely available human brain, that of the assistant or any helper. The effort for the motion is taken by a 250W permanent magnet DC motor powered by two 12V battery, with high torque (reduction using chain) and the helper need to take care of only maneuvering the device, during the climb up or down the stairs. This same motor can provide powered motion in the forward direction, by reversing polarity, and attaching an auxiliary circular wheel. People with considerable upper body strength would be able to hold the handle, lift themselves and mount on to it. Assistance is required for the old and weak. To solve this, we considered different ideas and found that, by removing the backrest and placing the seat slightly below the average height of a bed, chair or toilet-seat (450mm), with a slight outward slope, the user can simply slide on to it from the back! If he is a very weak person, then he can be helped by an assistant to do so, still reducing the assistant's effort considerably; earlier, the person needed to be lifted manually and placed by him. Thus there is transposed entry to the wheelchair, along with conventional entry. The backrest is locked in place after entering. A two wheel plus one caster-wheel design ensures 3-point ground contact at all time and has a lower tipping angle, also it makes the frame design simple and light. So, three high traction wheels, vibration isolation using suspension and a high torque drive makes it suitable for rough terrain. The frame and drive is made minimal enough to reduce cost, using standard parts as far as possible, and the ability to be assembled, modified and reassembled.

  It has become evident that the addition of a suitable short fiber results in further improvement in mechanical properties. Reinforcement of elastomers with short fibers combines the rigidity of the fibre with the elasticity of rubber. Progresses in the field of materials science and technology have given birth to fascinating and wonderful materials known as 'composites'. A composite material can be defined as a macroscopic combination of two or more distinct materials, having a recognizable interface between them. Composites are made up of continuous and discontinuous medium. The discontinuous medium that is stiffer and stronger than the continuous phase is called the reinforcement and the so called continuous phase is referred to as the matrix. The properties of a composite are dependent on the properties of the constituent materials, and their distribution and interaction. At present composite materials play a key role in aerospace industry, automobile industry and in other engineering applications as they exhibit outstanding strength to weight and modulus to weight ratio.

  Sustainable products play a major role in influencing consumer behavior. A prominent role is that influencing consumers’ penchant for sustainable products requires development of inventive products and analysis of consumption practices. original products with less common effects can lead the firm to greater business competency, improve its business act, and ensure it retains its competitive advantages. Several studies have investigated the motives for purchasing socially enviable goods however most studies are based on importance rating survey. Attribute importance rating suffers from social appeal bias and some of the inferences made from this technique depart from actual consumer sentiments. The aim of this study will be to evaluate the persuade of CSR in FMCG product features on consumers’ behavior. This paper investigates the marginal willingness to pay for social attributes. In this experimental study, base on Auger et al. (2006), making of different kinds of products with different levels of functional attributes and common attributes will strength consumers to make tradeoffs, allowing measurement of the trade-offs they make.

  The Government of Gujarat has launched VishwakarmaYojna (scheme) for development of villages by identifying the requirements of villages. Under this scheme, the villages are surveyed and this project was identified and selected for implementation. Rurbanization is to bring peace of mind to the villagers by providing them the basic amenities required and still keeping the village soul intact. This project gives one new idea for Development of rural villages. Also gives procedure how they fulfil requirement of the villages. Now-a-days people are moving from rural to urban area due to lack of basic amenities. With the help of this yojna we can bring awareness about the things which are not available at rural areas.   In India the number of disabled individuals is increasing every year. Mobility aids are useful for patients for transportation and a replacement for walking especially in indoor and outdoor environment. Transferring the patients from wheelchair to stretcher or to the medical bed is always an issue for the attendant or helper. Understanding the various issues regarding the mobility equipment and introducing a better design will be an asset for the medical field and helping hand for disabled individuals. There is a need for a wheelchair cum stretcher to facilitate the disabled patient’s mobility and to provide a novel medical equipment for use in the Indian hospitals. Here we are developing a system which is capable of shifting various positions (Chair, Semi-Chair and Stretcher) manually. These positions can be achieved by a lead screw connected with a hinge joint. Lead Screw translates turning motion into linear motion. Also the height of the stretcher can be adjusted using a Hydraulic jack manually. It is placed horizontally which pushes against a lever which lifts the main arm. And also there is a lid on chair which can be opened to eliminate human waste. This is a cost reducing project which helps mainly paralyzed patients to do their daily things.
