With the advancement of technology, cooling demands has gone up. In order to minimize cost, it is required to find out means to enhance heat dissipation rate without much design modification of electronic component. Here, analysis is carried out to optimize heat transfer in mixed convection regime to ensure minimum pumping power and channel size modifications. A vertical enclosure with a hot plate is considered and the flow is varied to obtain forced and mixed convection. The flow is considered to be laminar with Reynolds number below 2500 and Rayleigh number below. The orientation of the electronic component is also varied to determine the best possible design. Study was conducted by analysing the heat transfer coefficient of a hot plate using air flow. By comparing hot plate at different orientations, it is observed that the heat transfer coefficient value is high when the plate is inclined at an angle of 30 for both mixed and forced convection. It’s found out the power consumption is less in case of mixed convection. So by considering a limiting region were the heat transfer rate is similar for mixed and forced convection, we can choose mixed convection mode as the optimized convection mode.

A mutual fund is a pure intercessor, which performs basic function of buying and selling security happening behalf of its investors or unit holders. A proper evaluation measure will remove confusion and help small investors to choose about level of investment in many mutual fund schemes, so as to maximize the returns. . Indian capital market provides various investors help them to invest various industry, securities, and commodities and to ensure the profitable return. Mutual Funds help the small and medium size investors to participate in the today’s complex and current financial scenario. Investors can participate in Mutual funds to buying the units of a detailed Scheme. In this paper we have taken selected schemes were assessed on the basis of Sharpe, Treynor and Jensen’s measures.

Pages: 179 - 184
Coconut farming is one of the main cultivation in India, especially in southern states of India. It is for this Kerala is one of the largest producers of tender coconut in India. Like other fruits, it has three layers: the exocarp, mesocarp, and endocarp. The exocarp and mesocarp make up the "husk" of the coconut. Coconuts sold in the shops of non-tropical countries often have had the exocarp (outermost layer) removed. The flesh inside the seed of the coconut is only edible. So it is required to dehusk the coconut, remove the fibre and break the coconut seed to access the flesh. The proposed machine a Coconut Breaker Extractor Grater which can break a de-husked coconut into two pieces, collect coconut water and grate the coconut pieces into desiccated coconut. The main highlight of the proposed project is that there is no contact between the tool and hands of the user both in breaking and grating of the coconut. For the proposed machine, it is required to introduce a de-husked coconut and fix it on the arms of the machine. The main merits of the proposed machine are it is feasible in terms of economy, time and effort, enhanced safety of the user by eliminating injuries caused primarily due to improper handling of the grater tool.

Generally used conventional stretchers have small wheels comparatively. They can be used on smooth, levelled and concrete surfaces. But they are not suitable for rough, gutter filled and earthy passages. So the usual practice is that, two or more people will lift the stretcher by hand and carry it. This practice is not reliable in all cases and it may cause discomfort to the patient as well as the persons handling it. Also there are chances that the patient may even fall down. So there arises the need for a project to overcome all these problems. The proposed project has all terrain wheels which make it suitable for carrying patients easily and comfortably through rough terrain, gutter filled paths etc. Also an efficient suspension system is provided so that the patient may feel comfortable throughout the travel. No matter what the path is the patient will experience them smoothly. Also other provisions like foam bed or gel pad may be provided to increase comfort. The proposed project finds wide applications in areas where ambulance or other vehicles could not reach like villages, forests, narrow lanes in streets and a lot more medical purposes. The proposed project is also light weight so that it can easily be lifted in emergency situations. The proposed project will ultimately help to reduce human effort, reduce manpower requirements and will provide superior comfort and care to patients.

History is a replete with battles and wars since the dawn of civilization. Right from the ancient times, the foot soldiers have fought and won the battle for the victor. However, over the past decade or so, the infantry’s role has changed - the emergence of smart munitions and precision aerial bombardment has resulted in the infantryman entering tough urban combat situations to mop up any remaining resistance. Tomorrow’s heroic soldiers aren’t going to jump into the battle with just a bullet-proof vest, a backpack sized field radio and a commando knife clutched between his teeth. Our system works on voice command given by Voice module V3. The main thing is, we have used IP camera which also uses SD card, this SD card capture and stores the image even if the communication is destructed in fact also when only camera is in motion. Thus our aim is to provide a robotic system that can combat in wars and other military purposes.

Cold form steel is also called as light gauge steel sections. In this paper, the investigation made on the C channel section to calculate the buckling load using experimentally and theoretically. The C channel section is formed by channel section with lip was tested as under axial compression. The Finite strip method is developed by CUFSM software. The buckling load value will be taken from GBTUL software. The column strength determined by Direct Strength Method based on AISI-S100:2007. The load carrying capacity of column compared with numerical, theoretical and experimental results.

Sustainability in employment is really a challenging task for the Government as well as different educational institutions to provide good quality of jobs to the entire Non Graduate and graduating student in a sustainable manner. So there is an urgent need of development of sustainable Entrepreneurial culture in our country and it does play a vital role in socio-economic development. So it is a challenge in front of academic fraternity to find out a reasonable solution of the problem. The existing socio-political set up and the prevailing economic policies determined by Government about economic system and economic system is really finding it very difficult to provides quality of jobs to the young educated youth in sustainable manner so impetus to Entrepreneurship development is the need of the hour. To meet the goals of entrepreneurship development one need to address the needs of Entrepreneurship development programs and its delivery model. In this paper, we have given emphasis on the Entrepreneurship development programs and its timely, efficiently and effective delivery to address the issues of under employment.

This study focused on the evaluation of natural flocculants and by using activated carbon in waste water. Aloevera and opuntia are prepared for the primary treatment of wastewater through coagulation and activated process. One of the major sources, which affects the environment is the wastewater produced from the human activity. Therefore, to safeguard environment, Natural Coagulation and activated carbon are the methods that widely used in the treatment of wastewater. Furthermore, these hazards chemicals result in increase in turbidity, pH and TDS in waste water. These chemicals also attack the cellulose which leading to pollution. The net result is low quality control and polluted environment with high usage of energy, time, chemical and dilute water. Aloe vera and opuntia presents the finest commercial opportunity in various industrial sectors among the various plants. Also, most of the countries are gifted with the unique geographical features that are essential for cultivation of Aloevera and opuntia. Activated carbon is a non-graphite form of carbon which could be produced from any carbonaceous material. Activated carbons are increasingly used as the economic and stable mass separation agent for the removal of surfactants to raise the final product quality many industrial processes. Activated carbons also play an important role in many areas of modern science and technology such as purification of liquids and gases, separation of mixtures and catalysis. The Aloevera plant at various concentrations (2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10%) at various temperatures (25ËšC- 32ËšC) for a period of 30 DAYS.

Pages: 211 - 215
Ohmic heating is a process in which alternating electric current is passed through liquid-particulates foods to heat them. The heating occurs in the form of internal energy generation within the product. Voltage is applied directly to the electrodes at both ends of the product body which cause internal energy generation within the food material. This technology has wide range of applications in the area of food processing. In the present investigation, a laboratory scale ohmic heater was developed to use it for extraction of rapeseed oil.
