People make decisions every day. There are too many choices and a little time to explore them all. Recommendation systems help people make decisions in these complex information spaces. Recommendation systems are a type of information filtering that presents lists of items (films, songs, books, videos, images, products, web pages) which are likely of user interest. Amazon, Last.fm, Ulike, iLike, Netflix, Pandora are the most popular recommender systems all over the world. Simply they compare user interest acquired from his/her profile with some reference characteristics and predict the rating that the user would give. Recommendation System is a subclass of information filtering system which takes input from users and provides User with the most suitable output to fulfill his requirements. This system is used to present a new college admission system using data mining techniques for tackling college admission prediction problems. This System uses content-based filtering to provide aspiring students (Master of Science) with the most appropriate choices of colleges based on different parameters. The system analyses the student academics, merit, background, student records and the college admission criteria. Then it predicts the likelihood of colleges the student may enter. In addition to the high prediction accuracy is an advantage, as the system can predict suitable colleges that match the students’ profiles and the suitable track channels through which the students are advised to enter.

We already know India is one of the most agriculture dependent country and our economy is largely based on agriculture. Also the ever increasing demand for food with an increase in population is of prime importance. But the rate of production is comparatively low due to shortage of labour and high wages. So it is essential to achieve maximum efficiency in production in the limited area available nowadays. Also the shortage of labour has affected agriculture very badly. More and more people are turning away from agriculture. People are mostly migrating to cities and towns. The application of industrial equipments are endless starting from trivial milling machines, irrigation equipment, harvesting equipment and extending to specialized application such as combined harvesters and self-propelled machines, manure spraying machines. So an effective machinery for soil scooping machine has wide applications in house hold and farming purposes. The troubles associated with an agricultural machinery is its bulkiness, weight and reduced mobility and manoeuvrability. These problems are addressed with our project making it compact, lightweight and mobile. Thus, our soil scooping machine is an appropriate project in helping more people to deal with agricultural issues easily.

Pages: 493 - 498
Transportation infrastructure is the key element for the growth of any country and is essential for good physical connectivity in the very small villages, remote areas and hilly areas can be accessed only by roads. “Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna†(PMGSY) it was estimated that about 330,000 out of its 825,000 villages and habitations where without any all-weather road access. This Centrally Sponsored Scheme was introduced in 2000 by the Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It is under the authority of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and began on 25 December 2000. It is fully funded by the Central Government. For executing the transportation facilities, the quality of a pavement depends on the strength of its soil sub-grade. Soil is very basic and important element in civil engineering field. Usually each structure depends on the type and characteristics of foundation which depends on type of soil. Basically the black cotton soil is rather a difficult one to use in foundation because of its shrinkage and swelling properties. There are many methods to make black cotton soil stable for various constructions. Black cotton soil is comfortable for road work, compared to other types of soil. There are two ways to enhance the quality of subgrade soil -“Replacement of soil†or “Soil stabilizationâ€. Soil stabilization can be done chemically or mechanically. Chemical stabilization is carried out by adding different chemicals in suitable proportion, while Mechanical stabilization is achieved by addition of admixtures which helps to improve the properties of soil. Today, the amount of wastes has increased year by year and the disposal becomes a world faces a serious problem in disposing the large quantity of agricultural waste like Sugarcane Bagasse Ash, rice husk ash and coconut shell etc. This paper presents the effects of Sugarcane Bagasse Ash and Core Fibre on, liquid limit, plastic limit, compaction characteristics and California Bearing Ratio on the black cotton soil. Design and construction of civil engineering structures on and with expansive soils is a challenging task for engineers. The present work is aimed to assess the improvement in the strength and stability characteristics in soft Subgrade soil by using the Sugarcane Bagasse Ash for the stabilization and then Core fibre as reinforcing material. Randomly distributed fibre reinforced soil (RDFRS) technique is used to prepare the reinforced soil samples. In RDFRS technique the mixing of reinforcement in the soil is very easy and no special skill is required. The reinforcement is added by percentage of the weight of the soil sample and by following certain aspect ratio i.e., length/diameter (L/D) ratio. Attempt is made to determine optimum combination of SCBA and core fiber content for maximum gain in strength.

Chassis is a main component of the vehicle. This work involves static and dynamics analysis to determine the key characteristics of a Bolero Maxi-Truck chassis. The modelling of the chassis was done by using the modelling software AUTODESK INVENTOR PROFESSIONAL 2016 and then imported into finite element package ANSYS 14.5. The analysis was done by using one of the most important numerical methods is FEA and the software used is ANSYS 14.5.The static characteristics include identifying location of high stress area and maximum deformation area of the chassis. The dynamic characteristics of maxi-truck chassis such as the natural frequency and mode shape were determined by using finite element (FE) method. In the analysis, the behaviour of the chassis will be shown in 6 mode shapes. Modal updating of the truck chassis model was done by adjusting the selective properties such as mass density and Poisson’s ratio. Modifications have been suggested on the current chassis. Finally, the modification of the bolero maxi-truck chassis model was proposed to reduce the stress, deformation & weight of the truck chassis. The static structural analysis was done at different mesh conditions and results will be tabulated and graphs were plot. The results obtained from the modified chassis are compared with the original chassis, and the most optimized chassis is presented.
