  In rural societies a close relationship exists between rural – urban consumption linkages and the cultivation seasons. Rural – Urban linkages are strong during times of prosperity after harvest, but during periods of hardship, seasonal poverty compels farmers to purchase essential provisions on credit from village entrepreneurs. This is close to the situation prevailing among farm households in the North Central Dry Zone of Sri Lanka. The harvesting period of the main agricultural season in March and April coincides with the New Year festivities. Hence, consumption links with urban centres are stronger during variety of better quality goods at competitive prices, while weekly markets or ‘polas’ at these centres attract a large number of traders and consumers. During the rest of the year, except for two minor periods with strong rural – urban linkages, the majority of the farmers depend on village traders who supply daily provisions, agricultural inputs and other requirements on credit.The objective of this study is to account for the changes in the consumption linkages; examine the extent to which land ownership, wealth and regular monthly wages earned in urban areas contribute to differences in consumption linkages; assess the role of the village traders and suggest suitable recommendations to strengthen beneficial linkages with urban centres. Primary data for this study is based on fieldwork conducted in three urban centres and nine villages in their hinterlands. There is a close relation between inputs for the agricultural sector and the marketed outputs. As the same time, the farmers are bound to sell their outputs to the person who can deliver the inputs, especially when the inputs are credits.

  Location Based Service Applications (LBSAs) are becoming a vital part of our lives now. The users can communicate with the physical world and get all information they want through these applications. An example for LBSA is Foursquare .The demerit is it misuses in different ways by exploiting personal data of users and causes many threats. To avoid these threats and to increase location privacy uses the technique LocX. The locations as well as the data added with it are mapped before store in many servers. So the location cannot be retrieved from the server by a third party and the location is not visible to the hackers. Also, to improve the security in location points and data points we introduce dual encryption method in LocX. Asymmetric keys are used to encrypt the data with two keys public key and user’s private key. But in LocX random inexpensive symmetric keys are used.

  The Transformers working is based on the principle that energy can be efficiently transferred by magnetic induction from one winding to another winding by a varying magnetic field produced by alternating current. The magnetic circuit or core of a transformer is designed to provide a path for magnetic field, which is necessary for induction of voltages between the windings. In this paper, we have a MATLAB-program that utilizes a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to calculate the circuit parameters and efficiency of single phase ac transformer. This project has been designed and developed by using MATLAB & SIMULINK for developing the graphical user interface (GUI) of AC transformer. This GUI could be used in the form of simulation for an electrical software application in laboratory session. It is also can be used as e-learning of teaching and learning process in terms on how to analyses practically through the software. This paper has presented a virtual instrument (VI) of AC transformer by using MATLAB & SIMULINK which it is a user-friendly programming language and easy to be learnt by new programmer. It practices the user-friendly application which the user just needs to give a desired data for processing stage and output performance result. This paper consisted of three sections which are single phase transformer, Transformer Tests and Performance, Performance (Z_1, Z_2, R_c, X_m), Performance (Z_{eq}, R_c, X_m) These analyses focused on the performance of the AC transformer and other aspect Lagging, Leading, Efficiency, Performance Graph & analysis. The MATLAB & SIMULINK result have been verified and compared with manual calculation in order to ensure they are correct and reliable.
