Pages: 1 - 8
A method for strategic allocation of the resources is proposed here. All the website objects are viewed as resources, and they are allocated depending on the access rights of the person who is requesting, and the availability of the resource. With the rapid growth of the web, the slow response times of the popular websites due to server load and network congestion are viewed seriously because it leads to unsatisfactory customers. Most of the websites have replaced a single server with a cluster of replicated servers, in order to balance the server loads. Load distribution over the replicated servers needs to be controlled in distributed websites. It is a very challenging task to design an allocation strategy for a distributed site without sacrificing all of its benefits. Any solution must address the following issues like load balancing, transparent name resolving, legacy code, standard, scalability, flexibility, geographic distribution, dynamic changes in the server pool and fault transparency.

This paper on "Smart Irrigation System" is develop to create an automated irrigation mechanism which turns the pumping motor ON and OFF on detecting the moisture content of the earth using the soil moisture sensor without the intervention of human. The benefit of employing these techniques is to decrease human interference and it is quite feasible and affordable. This Smart irrigation system project is using an arduino micro-controller, that is programmed to collect the input signal according to moisture content of the soil and its output is given to the op-amp that will operate the pump.

In today’s world, micro-blogging sites has become a platform for individuals or organizations across the world to express their opinions, sentiment and experience in the form of tweets, status updates, blog posts, etc. This platform has no political and economic restrictions. This paper discusses an approach where a published stream of tweets on electronic products from the twitter micro-blogging site are then subjected to preprocessing and classified based on their emotional content as positive, negative and neutral. The performance of the unsupervised algorithm is then analyzed. The paper concludes with the comparison of the existing system with the proposed systems and applications of the research.

Self-compacting concrete (SCC) represents one of the most outstanding developments in concrete technology since 1980s. At first developed in Japan in the late 1980s, SCC meanwhile is spread all over the world with a steadily increasing and varied number of applications. Due to its specific enhanced properties, SCC may contribute to a significant development of the quality of concrete structures and open up new fields for the application of concrete. Self-Compacting Concrete gets compacted and dense due to its self-weight. An experimental research has been carried out to determine different characters like strength and workability of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC). Tests involving various fibre proportions for a particular mix of SCC were carried out. Test methods used to study the properties of fresh concrete were slump test, L-Box, U-Tube and V-Funnel. The properties like flexure, compressive and tensile strength of SCC were also investigated. Test Results shows that the workability characteristics of SCC are within the limiting constraints of SCC. The variation of different parameters of hardened concrete (M30 & M40) with respect to various percentage of steel fibre contents were analysed.

From last decade due to the development of the technology an education system in India has become so advanced. Smart class, video conferencing is some of the examples of modern trends in educational system. These applications help the institute to move forward for quick growth, fulfill their vision and accomplish their goals, E-way. The core idea of research project is to implement application based on android for attendance management system for advancement of institution and educational system We have seen over the years that the process of manual attendance has been carried out in schools, colleges and institutions .Such monitoring and maintenance of the student attendance using traditional approach is really a hectic process, because of using pen and paper. The problem with this approach is that it requires lots of paper work that is the part of our non-renewable natural resources. We are in the digitalization era where we have to think about sustainable development. We are developing the android application (e-school) which provides an alternate way. E-school application record the attendance using android mobile phone, maintain the attendance in database for easy and proper evaluation of attendance. Application also provide services like generating result, maintaining the fees structure and sends the sms to parents because parent can only get the information about their ward after the interaction with teachers and it is not possible to them to visit the school monthly. So, we tried to bring the system which enables parent to receive the academic performance of their ward of regularity on daily or monthly basis.

Our project deal with designing and implementing a convolutional encoder and Viterbi decoder which are the essential block in digital communication systems using FPGA technology. Convolutional coding is a coding scheme used in communication systems including deep space communications and wireless communications. It provides an alternative approach to block codes for transmission over a noisy channel. The block codes can be applied only for the block of data. The convolution coding has an advantage over the block codes in that it can be applied to a continuous DataStream as well as to blocks of data. The motivation of this paper is to understand a Viterbi decoder by Xilinx 12.4i tools.

Pages: 34 - 39
A Yoke assembly is a rotating element of transmission drive shafts. Yoke assembly consist of flange Yoke, tube Yoke, cross & needle roller bearing. Fatigue Failure is common mode of the Yoke assembly failure because all components are rotate about their respective position. In this study failure analysis of Yoke assembly of transmission drive shaft is carried out. By using finite element method high stress area of existing Yoke find out. Crack initiation takes place at high stress region where value of stress exceeds yield value. By observing failure data the primary observation show that assembly was failed at lug region of flange Yoke. If additional thickness provided on failed area of a existing part, Yoke will complete the desire life. After fabrication of Yoke assembly torque and torsional fatigue testing is carried out to check fatigue life of the component.

Year: 2017, Volume:3, Issue : 10
Pages: 40 - 49
Soil Cement with admixture can be used together to get the more stabilized subgrade on roads. When the soil is mixed with cement and then with admixture the properties of the soil get changed. The aim of the study is to review on stabilization of subgrade using soil cement with admixtures. In the experiment the soil sample has been taken from the Vadodara region, the soil is found granular soil with sufficient fines and many laboratory tests has been conducted on that soil sample and soil cement with admixtures with varying percentage of cement and admixture. The experiments which have performed are Standard Proctor Test, California Bearing Ratio Test (CBR) & Unconfined Compression Test (UCT) by adding 5 %, 10%, 15%, 20% of the cement content by volume of dry soil and the Admixture which has used is Lime of 5% by weight of the dry soil. Lime is chosen because lime alters the nature of the adsorbed layer and gives pozzolanic action.

Efficient ERP Distance Measure for Searching of Similar Time Series Trajectories

Pages: 50 - 56
Many researchers have been attracted towards searching of similar moving objects trajectories due to its wide range of real time applications. Searching of similar trajectories of moving objects helps data mining users to take smart decisions and thereby improving the performance of systems. Trajectories are compared for similarity using edit distance measures such as DTW, ERP, EDR, and LCSS. These existing distance measures are popular distance measures and compare trajectories for similarity by computing proximity distance between them. Distance measures DTW, EDR, ERP, and LCSS support scaling and translation property but it does not support rotation invariant property. RI distance measure supports scaling, translation and rotation invariant property and hence RI distance measure is considered to be superior compared to other edit distance measures. Even though RI distance measure is better compared to other edit distance measures, it has two main drawbacks. The first one is, it does not compares trajectories based on the shape and this shape based searching is very much required, since proximity distance is not only the best way to compares trajectories. The second problem, RI is not robust to noise and produces poor results. In this paper, we have proposed Efficient Longest Common Sub-Sequence (EERP) distance measure to compares trajectories based on the shape feature. EERP distance measure is based on the angular distance of the trajectories. The angular distance captures the shape feature of the trajectory. We have carried out experimental study on the real time and synthetic datasets. Experimental results reveal that our proposed EERP distance measure compares the trajectories based on the shape feature. Further, our experimental results reveal that, EERP distance measure supports rotation invariant property and very robust to the noise.
