In this project we propose a design of wheelchair whose backrest and a footrest can be controlled through a switch by the patient which will convert the wheel chair into a stretcher. This helps the patient to rest without getting shifted to a bed. This will also eliminates the efforts of assistant required for handling of handicap patients by providing an arrangement of desk with wheelchair. We went through a number of designs before arriving on the final design. Our requirement of motion could be achieved either with the help of belt and pulley arrangement or through gear transmission. Belt and pulley arrangement was avoided because of the high speed reduction and the factors like slip and weight involved. The purpose of locking also could not be addressed easily in this arrangement. The idea of spur gear transmission was also eliminated because the requirement of high torque, self-locking could not be satisfied. Also, this arrangement demanded two separate motors. Considering the above mentioned shortcomings, Worm and Worm wheel arrangement was selected. The advantage of this drive was it provided self-locking, since the motion is transmitted only from the worm to the worm wheel and not the other way round. The arrangement was compact too. Chain and sprocket arrangement has been used for transmitting the motion provided by the motor through Worm and Worm wheel arrangement. Another advantage is, it provides high speed reduction.

Year: 2017, Volume:3, Issue : 10
Pages: 193 - 196
In this paper, we introduce the lognormal distribution. Log-normal distributions are usually characterized in terms of the log-transformed variable, using as parameters the expected value, or mean of its distribution, and the standard deviation [7]. Two parameters are needed to specify a log-normal distribution. Traditionally, the mean μ and the standard deviation σ are used. This paper study sought to discover the role of Nibrin protein in 100 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and its potential relationship with clinic pathological parameters. The present study included 20% of patients with stage I disease, 22% of patients with stage II disease, 18% of patients with stage III disease, and 40% of patients with stage IV disease. Nibrin showed a significant positive correlation with moderately/poorly differentiated tumor tissues (P = 0.028), while significant inverse correlation of Nibrin expression was observed with tumor size (P = 0.018) and tumor stage (P = 0.039). Further, using univariate survival analysis it was observed that strong Nibrin expression was significantly associated with disease relapse in early stage OSCC patients (P = 0.049). Thus, the present study revealed that Nibrin could be used as a prognostic marker in patients with early stage OSCC. The application part is fitted with the Mathematical model and conclusion is compared with the medical report this will be helpful for the medical professional.

Year: 2017, Volume:3, Issue : 10
Pages: 197 - 200
Gesture recognition enables humans to communicate with the machine and interact naturally without any mechanical devices. Till now human can interact with computer through input devices like mouse and keyboard or technologies like Graphical User Interface, Command Line Interface, touch user interface, motion tracking interface. The use of gestures to convey information is an important part of human communication. Hand gesture recognition is widely used in many applications, such as in computer games, machinery control and thorough mouse replacement. Hand gestures can be classified into two categories: static and dynamic. Hand gesture recognition approach works on the three main phases i.e. object detection, tracking of object, and gesture recognition. In this survey paper different hand gesture recognition methods and issues are explained.

Pages: 209 - 214
In this project experimental investigation carried out in concrete by use of natural waste material where cement replace by corn cob ash and coarse aggregate by steel slag for protect our environment, give better comparative strength than conventional concrete. The corn cob ash used to replace cement partially in specified ratio 5%, 10% and steel slag obtain the replacement aggregate partially in specified ratio 40%, 50% used. The following test were carried out and made comparative study with conventional concrete such as compressive strength , split tensile strength, flexural strength at the age of 7,14,28 days are conducted for the specimen also enclosed results of their replacement.

India is known as a standout amongst the most crowded nations on the planet. It seems, by all accounts, to be the second nation to have the most astounding number of occupants. With the aggregate populace of 1.2billions, the administration of strong waste in India has experienced issues. Every year, the populace developed by 3-3.5%, as this variable emerges, the rate of strong waste era additionally ascend to 1.3%. The strong waste administration individuals in India must compose and deal with the administration amazingly keeping in mind the end goal to give a superior living condition to the people, creatures and plants. An incredible strong waste administration additionally helps in giving a decent situation which has low contaminations including air, soil, and water contaminations. Therefore, there are laws, rules, directions, enactments and mandates authorized by the administration to make the natives hold fast to as one of the methods for dealing with the waste era.

Pages: 218 - 220
Gate valves are machine elements which are commonly used to control the flow of fluids as gate valve provides a positive sealing at high pressure of liquids and gases. Gate valves are used when a straight-line flow of fluid and minimum restriction is desired. Gate valves are so named because the part that either stops or allows flow of fluid through the valve acts somewhat like the opening or closing of a gate and is called, appropriately, the gate. The objective of this paper is to focus the design and analysis of critical components of Gate Valve. The critical components in the Gate Valve studied by many of the researchers are Body, Gate Stem and slab gate. The main purpose of design and analysis of any valve is to determine stresses and strains developed in the valve body, which is mostly done by using computer aided software tools. This paper gives detailed review on various techniques adopted by several researchers in the design and analysis of Gate valve. Generally, elements of Gate Valve are developed in CATIA and analyzed in ANSYS. Specially, Gate valve stress analysis is carried out by FEM using ANSYS which can be further validated and supported by stress analysis using classical theory of mechanics.

Year: 2017, Volume:3, Issue : 10
Pages: 224 - 226
Lean manufacturing which is also known as lean production has been one of the most popular paradigms in waste elimination in the manufacturing and service industry. Thus, many firms have grabbed the benefits to practice lean manufacturing in order to enhance quality and productivity. However, previous research shows that, there are various sets of tools or techniques that had been adopted at a certain degree across firms according to their own understanding of lean manufacturing. The scenario resulted with varying leanness measures in order to measure lean practices. This project describes a preliminary study in developing a conceptual model to measure leanness in manufacturing industry. Literature survey, books and report analysis contribute to the main preliminary analysis of this study. The most common tools or techniques and their usefulness have been investigated. In this research, a conceptual model for leanness measurement in the manufacturing industry has been developed and designed in two main levels, namely the dimensions and the factors. There are seven main dimensions in measuring leanness in lean manufacturing practices such as manufacturing process and equipment, manufacturing planning and scheduling, visual information system, Supplier relationship, customer relationship, workforce and product development & technology. In addition, the model also shows how lean dimensions in the manufacturing system relate to eight types of wastes.
