For a nation its Economical development depends widely on factors such as its education, industrial growth and many other factors and one of the most important factors amongst them is Energy consumption. Currently in our country we are facing problem such as losses in production, transmission and distribution of power which causes financial damage for everyone. Electrical parameters such as voltage and current are important but in spite of that Frequency and RMS value of voltage and current are also important. There is no unique system for frequency and rms value measurement because of continuous isolation required for instrument and accuracy of instrument vary due to substantial changes in supply voltage and current under non-sinusoidal conditions. Proposed system is simple and can proved to be more efficient to measure frequency and rms value of voltage and current in both sinusoidal as well as non-sinusoidal supply conditions.

Pages: 63 - 71
Earthquakes are very common in every part of the world. Geographical statics of India show that almost 60% of the land is vulnerable to earthquakes. Due to these earthquakes large destruction is caused to human life and the buildings. The buildings, which appears to be strong enough, may crumble like houses of cards during earthquake and deficiencies may be exposed. Experience gain from the recent earthquake of Indonesia, 2004 demonstrates that the most of buildings collapsed were found deficient to meet out the requirements of the present day codes. It has raised the questions about the adequacy of framed structures to resist strong motions, since many buildings suffered great damage or collapsed. Pushover analysis is a method to evaluate the performance of an existing building under earthquakes. In the proposed study a four-story residential existing reinforced concrete building in the city of Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, subjected to seismic hazard, was analyzed. Plastic hinge is used to represent the failure mode in the beams and columns when the member yields. The pushover analysis was performed on the building using SAP2000 ver.14 software both in X and Y direction. The equivalent lateral force (ELF) procedure is used to compute design forces and distributed over the height of the structure. The main objective of the study reported in this paper is to check the performance level of the reinforced concrete structures during the seismic events.

Recently, the bounds between e-commerce and social networking have become increasingly blurred. Many e-commerce websites keep the mechanism of social log in where users can to stay the websites using their social media identities like their Facebook or Twitter accounts. Users may also post their newly purchased products on micro-blogs with links on the e-commerce product web pages. Within this paper, we advise a manuscript solution for a cross-site cold-start product recommendation, which aims to recommend products from e-commerce websites to users at social networking sites in "cold-start" situations, an issue that has rarely been explored before. A serious challenge is how you can leverage knowledge extracted from social networking sites for the cross-site cold-start product recommendation.

Pages: 103 - 106
Deep drawing is part of forming process in which sheet metal drawn into die cavity by action of a punch. Sheet metal drawing is a more complex operation than cutting or bending, and more things can go wrong. A blank holding force, punch force, material property of sheet metal, thickness of sheet, velocity of punch, these are all affecting parameters in deep drawing process to regulate wrinkling effect, tearing effect and fracture defect. Nowadays composite material is extensively used in manufacturing industries due to its better strength. Die radius has the greatest influence on the deep drawing of stainless steel blank sheet followed by the blank holder force and the friction coefficient. Further, it is shown that a blank holder force application and local lubrication scheme improved the quality of the formed part. The present study aims to determine the optimum blank shape design for deep drawing of arbitrary shaped cups with a uniform trim allowance at the flange, i.e., cups without ears. The earing, or non-uniform flange, is caused by non-uniform material flow and planar anisotropy in the sheet. Drawing is sheet metal forming operation used to make cup shaped, box shaped, and complex curved and concave cup.

Steering system is the system which provides directional change in the performance of an automobile. This system converts rotary movement of the steering wheel into angular movement of the front wheels. It multiplies driver’s effort by mechanical advantage, enabling him to turn the wheels easily. The Davis gear mechanism consists of a cross link sliding parallel to another link is connected to the stub axles of the two front wheels by means of two similar bell crank levers pivoted. The cross link slides in slides in the bearing and carries pins at its end. The slide blocks are pivoted on these pins and move with the turning of bell crank levers as the steering wheel is when the vehicle is running straight, the gear said to in its mid-position. The short arms are inclined an angle 90+α to their stub axles. The correct steering depends upon a suitable selection of cross-arm angle α.
