Gesture recognition enables humans to communicate with the machine and interact naturally without any mechanical devices. Till now human can interact with computer through input devices like mouse and keyboard or technologies like Graphical User Interface, Command Line Interface, touch user interface, motion tracking interface. The use of gestures to convey information is an important part of human communication. Hand gesture recognition is widely used in many applications, such as in computer games, machinery control and thorough mouse replacement. Hand gestures can be classified into two categories: static and dynamic. Hand gesture recognition approach works on the three main phases i.e. object detection, tracking of object, and gesture recognition. In this survey paper different hand gesture recognition methods and issues are explained.
