Abstract: |

In the present time aluminium and other metals are replaced by composite materials in the field of automobile due to less weight and less corrosiveness. In this experiment aluminum alloy is used as the matrix material and SiC and various leaf ashes used as the reinforcement. The composite is developed by bottom pouring stir casting method. The optical microscopic test is steered to examine the dispersal of reinforcement particulates. Vickers hardness test is used to calculating the hardness in the composite samples. Finally, the mechanical and tribological properties of the composites were evaluated, and their relation to the corresponding microstructure and processing parameters of the composites was discussed. |
